ATI testing

Does anyone else have to use this for school? Do you find it helpful or not?

We just rec'd our books and codes for the website, so I'm sure I'll have an opinion soon. :)

My school out here in California uses it as well. Since I havent taken boards yet, I dont have much of an opinion regarding ATI except, "D@mn there's a lot of information in those books and DVD's"

I go to Owens Community, in OH. We use the ATI. It does seem like we already are bombarded with requirements/exams and this is just another stressor. Actually, I used to think this, but now I see that for my final in Nursing Fundamentals, it will be the ATI section of the test for the final. And the same with other courses. It is actually going to give us an idea of how we are doing nationally, and how we will likely do on our NCLEX, along the way. So, we have a chance to fix our shortcomings. All of this in "theory", of course! It does make sense, though, since all of our credentials in the end will come from national exams and such. I guess there's a very strong correlation between success on ATI exams and NCLEX.

I'm in my second semester of a four semester ADN program. We use ATI, and our school has a 96-99% pass rate for the past several years, which I think reflects, to some degree, the predicitive nature of passing the ATI tests. We have to pass each module in order to move to the next semester, and in our final semester there is a cumulative review/predictor. Although it's one more thing to worry about each semester, I honestly find it helpful, and I think the books are a handy resource in addition to our textbooks. Depending on which textbooks you use, the ATI module book may pretty closely follow the content of your textbook.

Hope this helps!

I just graduated LVN school and the ATI was used as the exit exam. We received the ATI books/dvds just a few months back as it was difficult getting through all the information in them with the limited time. Our class all passed with at least a 90% probability score, most of us were in the upper 90's. I think the online testing helped get me used to taking their tests, and some of the dvds were very useful for review. I would suggest using your text along with ATI however. The books are set in a bullet format as I think it helps to know the basics and add ATI to your study.

We just got ours so I have not used it yet but it looks amazing. Anything to help my probability of passing the NCLEX is OK in my book! It is totally optional to our school whether we use it or not and I for one am thankful they included it. It think it is awesome that it tells you where you are proficient and deficient. I must be a dork, cause I can't wait to put it to use. :clown:

We use these tests and I like it. I like being able to get a feel for how I'm doing over all. The questions are based on NCLEX types of questions and it really helps you to know whether or not you've grasped the subject matter. I'm in an LPN program, set to graduate May 30, but have a friend who just finished her BSN and they utilized ATI in their program as well. I like how it shows you which content area you need to review. Even if you pass the test, it's helpful to know what areas to brush up on since the NCLEX could ask more questions from that area. It is a pretty good indicator of how you will do on you NCLEX.

Ati's suck, we are required to pass them here in VA. On the 25th (the last day of class) I have to pass an ATI exit exam, so if i pass, i graduate on October 1st, if i dont.........Then im back in class monday, for another 5 weeks!!!!!!! I hate em!!!

we are also required to do ati testing. if we dont pass, we get another chance, if we dont pass that time, we do remediation, and if we dont pass a third time, we're out!!! havnet gotten my books yet, so i cant tell you what i think of them!
