Hi everyone,
I have just decided recently to make a change and go for nursing at my community college. It just so happens I have everything done as far as degree requirements etc except microbiology, and A&P. my school doesn't do anatomy separate from physiology not does it break it up into 2 classes. I'm not sure if id learn everything everyone else has to if they took the two classes separate. I am at Macomb Community College if anyone has specifically gone through this or not all info would be helpful.
my question is I would be attempting to take A&P, microbiology and intro to nursing (only 1.5 credits online( all this fall semester to get in this year. Do you all believe this is too Difficult? I have such bad anxiety over it...I am prepared, I think. I WILL quit my job (20 hours per week) if I have to. These classes would be 13 contact hours per week. Thanks in advance.

Good day, sarahjeanleach:
A lot depends on your study habits, discipline, love of science, time availability, etc. In the spring (January to May) semester of this year, I took AP2, Microbiology, Nutritional Science, and Life Cycle Development. It was extremely hard, but doable. For me to do well, it did mean putting in 36 to 48 hours per week just for AP2 and Microbiology study time (18 to 24 hours per week each).
Thank you.
Thanks so much for your reply. Do you mind if I ask what grade you achieved with this much study time put in?
Hi sarahjeanleach:
]Anatomy and Physiology II - 100% - A
]Life Cycle Development - 100% - A
]Microbiology - 100% - A
]Nutrition - 97% - A
Now, I have no clue as to correlate the amount of study time to a specific grade; so I cannot state if I put in 12 hours per week for AP2 compared to 18 to 24 if I would have still gotten an A (grading scale is 90 to 100 = A)... if I put in 9 hours and so forth.

It really does depend on your study habits. It also depends on the teacher that you have, although most of it comes down to you. I took AP1 and Microbiology in the same semester, and it did me no good. I was completely overwhelmed, it was too much information for me to handle. I was easily studying from the time I woke up, until I went to sleep almost every day. Unless I was actively in class. I actually ended up so burnt out by the end of it, I couldn't even focus enough to study. Not saying that this happens to everyone, of course, but it can happen to you. After doing this, I ended up with a B+ in AP and a B in Microbiology. Not the best grades, but definitely not the worst ones either. I believe that if I would have broken them up instead of taking them together, I could have gotten better grades.
Good luck!
