ASU- Summer/Fall 2016

Published

Hey everyone! I thought this would be a great place to talk about Applications, TEAS Questions/Scores, Titers, and just getting to know each other!! Which semester are you applying for? Questions? It'll be fun! :) Introduce yourself!!!

I am applying for the fall term downtown. I'm nervous but totally excited! :)

I was looking back at last year's post on here for the 2015 summer/fall cohorts. It looks like the students got their preliminary acceptance letters March 25, 2015. So I am hoping we will get an email next week! If not, our application packet states the first week of April. My advisor also said end of March, beginning of April. It's getting closer! =)

I looked at 2014 and it looked like they got theirs on March 28th, so here's hoping that it comes soon!

I saw that! It seems like from all of the previous allnurses online ASU Fall acceptance forums (2014 & 2015) that everyone found out by March 27th. Maybe it's an unofficial deadline for the nursing department? Either way, it's only 5 days away!!! I think we should definitely know by April 1st, if not sooner!!

Hey K_karenh! I forgot to ask... What cycle are you applying for? I'm applying for the fall downtown cycle. Fingers crossed!! :)

I applied to the fall downtown cycle as well! Summer is my second choice

The summer program sounds really nice too. It's nice how it's accelerated program, so you can graduate sooner and get into, say, a nurse practitioner program sooner, so you're overall education length will be shortened. I would love to do summer, but my scholarship doesnt cover the summer terms.

I considered putting the summer program as my first choice but it was listed as more expensive than the other 3 so I just listed it as my second choice! I've tried looking at different forums on here and it seems like a lot of people are applying to mayo as their first choice so more spots for us!

I really liked the Mayo campus option, but I didn't like how the classes and clinicals didn't end until later in the evening (around 8-10pm) and how there were classes during the weekend.

Also, it appears that we'll be getting an email either this week or next of our intent to enroll in the ASU nursing program and to make sure our information is correct. We'll have to fill something out and then return it to them. Once they get those letters back (we'll have 5 days to do it), within a week of them receiving them all, they'll send out acceptance letters. So we probably wont know until (at the very latest) April 15th. A classmate told me her advisor told her all of this.

I'm getting excitedddd!!!

I also didn't like the late classes and weekends because I work in the evenings and weekends. I also really like the concrete setup of the fall downtown program!

That's so exciting to hear! I've been anxiously waiting since the beginning of March because I thought that's when the emails were supposed to go out! So will the first emails be what they listed on the application packet as provisional acceptance/alternate/rejection, or will this just be an email for everyone?

My understanding is that the first email will be just to make sure the information they have on file is correct (TEAS score, GPA, etc.) and to make sure all requirements have been meet (if they have any questions). This email will go to everyone, although everyone gets a different email since its their own personal information. I also believe there will either be a form you have to turn in or simply reply to the email, stating that you indeed want to go to ASU (not that you have to, but are still interested).

I'm getting so nervous waiting for these last couple of days! If you don't mind me asking what is your advancement score?

My advancement score is 1.867. I'm not really sure where I stand, but I think that's pretty good. What about you?
