ASU- Summer/Fall 2016

Published

Hey everyone! I thought this would be a great place to talk about Applications, TEAS Questions/Scores, Titers, and just getting to know each other!! Which semester are you applying for? Questions? It'll be fun! :) Introduce yourself!!!

I am applying for the fall term downtown. I'm nervous but totally excited! :)

Hi RNanab,

Thanks for the info! Just out of curiosity, with scores that high, how did being a transfer student out you at a disadvantage? Did they only accept a certain number of transfers? Bias? Thank you!

From what I heard, direct admits will get priority, and then transfer students will take remaining spaces. I guess there were very few spaces left for transfer students when I applied.

Okay, so direct admits, then ASU non-direct, then transfer students? I guess that would make sense, but I had always thought transfer students had the same weight as Non-direct ASU students. It was just who had the best GPA's and TEAS scores.

I don't think non-direct ASU students are in a higher priority than transfer students. If you are not direct-admit, being an ASU student doesn't make any difference.

Hi, do you know if we are supposed to wait until we get an email to apply for ASU online? After being accepted?

I believe that you are already supposed to have applied to ASU as a "community health" major before the application deadline of February 1. Unless you are asking about signing up for courses? In that case, I would assume that you have to be accepted into the program first before you are able to sign up for any online classes.

Please clarify your question if this didn't answer it.

Yeah I was accepted into the cep program, but my ASU advisor hasn't sent me info about what is next. I know I am suppose to apply to the school though just wanted to know if I should just do it or wait till I get something from ASU.

Hi RNanab! What hours during the day and which days of the week do you normally have clinicals? Will you be taking summer? Just wondering how summer schedule would look like. =) Thanks!

I believe every cohort has a different schedule. In your first semester, you will be in lab, clinical, or class throughout the week. I don't remember having days off during Junior 1.... And yes, I am taking Senior 2 this summer :) I will have class from 8am to 4:30 pm on Mon and Tue, and clinicals on Wed, Thu, and Fri.

Me too! I've been anxiously checking my email every day but nothing 😭

Hi k_karenh,

My advisor said we should be getting an email in around mid-late march to make sure our information is correct and another email around early April pertaining to our acceptance into the program. It's getting closer and I'm getting nervous! :)
