I am a senior in high school attending asu next year and I have plans to go into nursing there when the time comes. I truly want this more than anything and I have heard how incredibly competitive their nursing program was so I am wondering if anybody could give me any advice on preparing myself now and through my prerequisites so that I could be a better applicant when the time comes. thank you!

Hi! I think the best thing to do is really try your best to get A's in your classes. I think now ASU will be doing interviews so I guess your entrance won't all depend on your grades, but having good grades and a good teas score allows you to have the chance to actually interview. I would recommend you to really utilize all of your resources. If possible, go to study sessions, and get help from TA's, make study groups, etc. It seems like you're very determined and with that determination, you'll be able to get where you need to be :) Good luck!

ASU did make changes to the application process, but there are no interviews. Your application score to get in is your GPA plus TEAS score. The GPA used in your application score is a "select GPA" meaning you chose 13 of your 17 pre-reqs to calculate your gpa. But 3 sciences (bio, micro, and chem) and both english classes (eng 101 & 102) have to be part of the 13, so make sure you get A's in those! You pretty much have to have all A's to get in, maybe a couple B's, MAYBE. But there are 3 times a year you can apply now, spring, summer, and fall so that helps. Also, they're now giving a multiplier to application scores if you've taken all of your pre-reqs at ASU, so definitely take them all at ASU!

Good luck! Work hard and you'll make it :) There are days I wonder why I'm here and I miss sleep sooooo much, but over all its a great experience! :nurse:
