Hello everyone,
This is my first post! What a valuable resource this site has been for me! A little background on myself to begin:
I am 24, male, and have a degree from ASU in Business Marketing (2012). I have been working all year on prerequisites required for consideration in ASU's Post-Bacc BSN program, which (if you are unfamiliar) is a program that allows people with degrees to get their BSN in 12 months after completion of pre-reqs. It requires a minimum 3.50 select GPA and 58.7% score on the TEAS to even be considered.
I received A's in all prerequisites except for a sophomore-year psychology 101 class, which was a B. This makes my application GPA a 3.89 (instead of a 4.0 ). I just took the TEAS yesterday, and got a 91.3% (99th percentile national, 98th percentile in the ASU BSN program overall).
Do any accepted applicants have opinions on my scores? What do you think the chances of me getting into the program are? If you can speak to your experience with the application and admissions process, that would be great. I think I am doing well, and I believe after they look at my application and see that I have straight A's on all of my medical-related prerequisites, they won't discredit my GPA with the one psychology class.
Also, anyone else applying? How has the process been? Our apps are due soon!
Thanks in advance for your advice!
I applied to both the PBCNP and the TPCNP and got the information sheet review emails for both.
courtneyfaith, very good information to know that they do care about the essays. I am above last year's average, but every little bit helps.
Let's all keep keeping in touch! And hopefully within the next 20 days we will know our results!!!
lol, you're welcome! I am slightly below last years average so I know I am no "sure-thing" but still very hopeful. My second choice is the summer start 16 mo program at ASU, but the post-bacc is by far my #1 choice. I am really excited too!! Wishing you all really good luck and hope you can all keep busy while we wait

Yes, I don't think keeping busy is going to be an issue for me, with full-time at work and in class, I am pretty busy.
Not to jump-the-gun here, but I am going to go ahead and make a facebook group associated with the 2014 Post-Bacc BSN program. I know at this point we are all "hopefuls", but this way we can stay in touch a little easier than a forum, and for those of us whom don't get provisional acceptance, we will still be able to stay in touch if seats open up or people decline their slots.
To join, go to this URL and request to be added. If any of your are from the forum, please notify me in your addition request.

Good luck with your admission!
Everything is correct on my forms, but some of the course codes for a couple of classes I am using from my old college are just slightly off, but I am pretty sure this is just how ASU translated them and it should not make a difference. I am waiting on clarification from my advisor, so once I have that I can just fax my form in saying that everything is correct!
I'm pretty certain this is an all day Monday through Friday thing. Classes start around 7:30 - 8:35 and end around 3:30. I don't know how clinical hours will work, but would assume something similar. I don't know what report time we will have. Are you looking into it for this year's cohort (2014 start) or the following year (2015)? We won't find out our schedules, if we get into the program, until mid-December.

The essays do have a point value. They told me they are worth less than the TEAS or GPA but each essay is assigned a point value that is added to your advancement score- they do not tell what that value is. I guess they want to see that people are well rounded and not just able to have perfect scores.
