I am currently a nurse looking at entering into a masters program. I currently have 2 years experience as an RN, volunteer as a merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America, serve on a committee in my workplace, have strong reviews from former educators and my current employer/colleagues, and have a GRE of 159 in math and 162 in verbal. My one lacking area is my last 60 credit hours in nursing which comes to 2.74.
This is below a GPA of 3.0, and still below many institutions probationary (2.8). I would greatly appreciate any assistance or suggestions in pursuing a masters. Institutions mention having a board review if below probationary status in which the applicant provides evidence of potential for academic success. What more can I currently do to improve myself as a candidate?
