Hi Guys. How're you all doing? Can you please tell me how one can be a Nurse Informatics (the board certified one) when you hold an RN-ASN and Bachelor's in Computer Science?? Thank You..
I am still an LPN Student with A.A.S. in Computer Science? Do you think it would be wise to choose this route: After LPN, I will do Excelsior and get my ASN then do my bachelor's in Computer Science then do MSN in Nurse Informatics? Is it possible to skip the BSN if you already have a B.S. in Computer Science? Thank You so much. I always want to plan ahead of time.

I have a BS in Math and many years experience in software development, data research, project management and business analysis. I have my LPN license and I am going to school to get my RN in May. I have been talking to Northwestern University about their master's in Medical Informatics online program. You can skip the BSN if you have a BS and go directly to the master's program. They like my extensive computer science experience.

As far as I know in order to sit for Board Certification in NI from the American Nurses Association you need a BSN or a MSN.

I dropped out Excelsior's program to go to Europe. Excelsior's program is highly respected and I'd recommend it. I'd also recommend the U Of Maryland, Northwestern, Loyola, U of Ill., and several others
