AMITYVILLE, N.Y. -- Two nurses on Long Island are accused of forging COVID-19 vaccination cards and pocketing more than $1.5 million from the scheme, prosecutors and police said.

Julie DeVuono, the owner of Wild Child Pediatric Healthcare in Amityville, and her employee, Marissa Urraro, are both charged with felony forgery, and DeVuono also is charged with offering a false instrument for filing. Both were arraigned Friday....

...Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said DeVuono and Urraro handed out fake vaccination cards, charging $220 for adults and $85 for children. DeVuono, a nurse practitioner, and Urraro, a licensed practical nurse, entered the false information into the state's immunization database, he said.

Prosecutors said the nurses forged a fake card showing a vaccine was given to an undercover detective but never administered the vaccine to the detective....

I am amazed that they could make so much money in such a short time.

A lot of people just don’t want the COVID vaccination.  They are afraid of potential harm, or they are incensed about being forced to take a vaccination.  We receive vaccinations as children, we had no choice. As adults, we get to choose.  Our society is so inconsistent with its edicts.

Yes.

A huge inconsistency was the pandemic press briefing where the CDC and NIH recommended that all Americans begin to wear masks as they distance to slow the spread of the contagion and at the same time the politician on the dias insisted that masks were optional...a matter of personal preference or opinion. Shortly after that confusion, that same politician began to criticize our leading expert in infectious diseases while suggesting some alternative treatments for covid that incited some citizens to take risky action with their health.  What followed was a cacophony of contradictory edicts from public health versus state political leadership.  And here we are.

A couple of words I would question are 'accused' and that 'an undercover detective' was involved. Sorry, I'll wait until their side of the story comes out. I don't trust these 'undercover' detectives as their job is to deceive and get someone to do wrongdoing. I believe there is more to the story.

You want the "more to the story"?  Here you go:

"Police found some of the money in helmet bags issued by the New York City Police Department, the paper said. Because of the scheme, DeVuono’s husband, NYPD Officer Derin DeVuono, is now being investigated by the department for any possible involvement in the fraud scheme....
.... NYPD officer Derin DeVuono, is being investigated by the department’s Internal Affairs Bureau for any involvement he might have had funneling business his wife’s way, sources said."
