Hello all, I am a prior service Army M6 (LPN). I will finish my BSN in December of 2010 and want to go back to the reserves as a BSN. Recruiter said it's competitive and I need 6 months experience as an RN to be boarded. Any advantage to go back enlisted and go the commisioned route internally? Or is it better to just wait the six months and turn in packet? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Personally I would wait and go straight into the reserves. This should also enable you to be eligible for recruiting incentives... currently an example would be BSN bonus of 10k x3 if I'm not mistaken.. which is for new recruits vs enlisted to officer packet... plus I think the timeline would be shorter waiting to go in vs going in and then placing packet and then waiting for that route -
Have you entertained the idea of being a nurse with national guard? Depending on where you live maybe they have a need for nurses.. If so might compare the incentives and roles of the units in your vicinity vs the reserve units near you.

No it would not be. Just cause has it right
Thank you for the replies. I believe that makes the most sense. It's nice to get a second opinion.
