Army reserve nurse

Published

I am 24 years old, currently in my last semester, and I expect to graduate in October with my Associate's Degree in Nursing. I was really interested in knowing more about being a nurse in the army reserve. How is it? What's the application process. Can I join as a new graduate? Anyone???

There's a whole forum dedicated to Military/VA nursing man. Come over and join us. Speak to a healthcare recruiter ASAP. and make sure he's NOT an enlisted recruiter.. y ou would join as an officer. Not sure about the Assoc thing tho, you may need a BSN even for the reserves... but check the forums to be sure.

The Reserve recruiter told my ADN class:

ADN: 2nd Lt, 1st Lt, Capt

BSN: Major and above

If I can lose some weight, I would like to be a waivered-in 52 year old 2nd Lt. That would hack off some guys in my Air National Guard unit off to HAVE TO SALUTE ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im pretty sure you have to have a bachelor's to be an officer in the military. So, I doubt youd go in as a lt with an ADN. but i could be wrong.

One may Direct Commission into the Army Nurse Corps with an ASD as a 2L, 1L, or Captain...usu 2L & 1L mostly. A BSN is required only for advancement & to go Active Duty.
