Im currently pursuing a nursing degree. Im only starting my second semester so I have plenty of time before i am eligible to join. I KNOW this is something that I want to do with my life and am extremely motivated to get there. However I am a little in the dark about how I should go about joining. Please help. If its at all possible to explain the competitiveness of getting into the army nurse corps with a bsn and little civilian nursing experience please do so.

You should contact a healthcare recruiter: http://www.goarmy.com/locate-a-recruiter.html

Your area of interest would be AMEDD. A healthcare recruiter can help guide you to the next step.

Yes, the Army is competitive right now -- too many applicants for too few slots, which mirrors the civilian world. It might be different by the time you graduate. Good luck!

Try ROTC if that's available at your school.

yes i would advise the AMEDD as well...they can help you get to your goals faster...wish you luck..

I'd recommend browsing through this forum, goarmy.com and then looking at doing the Army's Nurse Candidate Program. For a future nurse I would highly recommend this over ROTC if you can get yourself through school financially.
