ARMY Critical Care Nursing full?????

Published

My recruiter told me there are no longer any spots available for active duty critical care nursing? He said I would have to wait until october. Has anyone else heard this?

Actually, per the website terms of service (TOS) at https://allnurses.com/terms-info.html:

Freedom of Speech?

Although the constitution of the US guarantees that “Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech”, allnurses.com is not Congress. Freedom of speech rights do not extend to this privately owned website. The TOS/Guidelines of this website governs the behaviors and activities of the members. If you choose not to follow the guidelines agreed to during registration, the result is a disabling of your account.

So there it is. :)

I think the idea behind the terms of the account is not to use profanity... be insulting, rude, vulgar, etc... opinions are opinions.

"No potentially libelous information about specific schools, instructors, or health care facilities/entities should be posted in these forums. While it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:"

"any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law."

"There is a zero-tolerance policy here against personal attacks. We will not tolerate anyone insulting another individual's opinion nor name calling and will BAN repeat offenders."

I don't think that anyone has issue with you not being happy in your role, with your job or in the way you feel like the Army is treating you and the nurses in the NC.

A more helpful way to point out negatives is to be more specific. In some of your other posts in other threads you've hinted at some of the things that seem to irk you the most...RN supervisor for a FNP, lack of respect when compared to PA's, less areas of practice than you would like or were led to believe you would have available. I think the initial post you made just struck a wrong nerve.

There are awesome qualities in many jobs, and crappy qualities in every job. There is nothing wrong with anyone (nurse, MD, PA, NP, officer or enlisted service member) voicing their dislikes...but a global statement is much more likely to get people upset.

I think the point that Lunah was making in her post was that it's not really a "public" forum in the true sense of the word. Someone owns it, someone makes rules, and they really have the right to censor whatever they want. Not that I agree, just sayin' is all.

I think it's very helpful, especially for non-priors, to hear some of the negatives that you've run into. There is often a great fear of the unknown when it comes to the military...and it is very much NOT a democracy. Feel free to describe what you don't like, I say. But do so constructively, and I think you'll find that everyone here can respect your opinion...even if they don't agree or have had different experiences.

That was exactly my point. It may be accessible to the public, but it is privately owned, and freedom of speech is specifically addressed in the TOS. Just wanted everyone to be aware. Thanks. :)

Lunah - completely off topic, but I've wanted to say - if that's you in your avatar, you look like the coolest...person...EVER....!!

OK, back to the forum!
