Arkansas State University 2020 CRNA

Hello all! I haven't seen a thread for the Arkansas State CRNA program that starts in January of 2020. I've sent in my application and have been reading (and re-reading) old A-State CRNA threads about the interview process and all that so I thought we could start one for this cohort!

I will be applying too.

Specializes in ER and CV-ICU.

Thanks for starting the thread. I couldn’t locate any either. I’m applying as well and hope this is my last application. I’m extremely interested in A-State, being from the south, seems like it would be an easy living transition.

As far as background, I’ve been an ER nurse for 7 years and CVMS for almost 2 at a level II trauma and academic hospital

Unfortunately, my stats aren’t that stellar, but I meet requirements and I’ve already been accepted to the grad school for the statistics class, anyone taking it this summer?

I took the stats class online through a-state this past January. It was very easy.

Thats good to hear, I was wondering how bad it was because its only a month long and kinda expensive.

I'm also planning on applying. What are everyone's GRE scores, GPA, and years of experience?

GPA- 3.2, GRE in a couple of weeks.

Ive been an ER Nurse for 7 years and in cardiothoracic ICU for 2 years.

GPA is pretty low but hoping for an interview.

GPA: 3.8. GRE: 300 and 4 on writing. And by January 2020, I will have approximately 1.5 years of experience primarily in the CVICU. Planning to take the CCRN in August.

Specializes in STICU.

I'm applying 3 years ER and will be at 1 year exactly in January STICU at a level 1 trauma center.

ICURN9876, sounds like you have a good admission profile. CCRN wasn't bad, I just took mine a month or so ago.

Hey yall! I am applying for the January 2020 start date as well. As the application date gets closer, I feel I've been more and more anxious. I have 7 years' experience as a nurse in NICU, Neuro-Trauma ICU, and CVICU. I am working on a Master's in leadership and management, and I have my CCRN. My GRE and pre-MSN GPA are mediocre at best, and I think that will be my biggest hurdle (I hope!). Has anyone spoken with the school about when they might reach out about interviews? Or does anyone have personal experience with what interviews were like? I have been reading blog posts and things, but some of them were from a few years back, so I'm not sure how accurate they are anymore.

I am registered to take the stats course starting July 1. Have you signed up? I had a coworker take it earlier this year and said it was a decent class to get a good grade in as long as you followed along and didn't get behind on coursework.
