Banner Health New Grad '18

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi everyone!

I just recently accepted a position at Banner Boswell Medical Center for their Intermediate Care Unit (similar to PCU) floor. My tentative start date is in the middle of March, due to the fact that I have to endorse my CA license to AZ.

Is anyone here starting around the same time frame? Any advice as a new grad? And for those currently working at Banner Boswell or went through their new grad program, do you enjoy working there?

How long did it take you to endorse it back to AZ? I've wondered this before since the BON wants to process everything but I have heard of so many new grads from other states that take their NCLEX within a couple days of graduating.

I was never endorsed in another state. When you register for NCLEX, you designate what BON you want your results sent to. So, you can test anywhere, but your results will only go to the BON you designate.

I guess I am confused. Did you drive to another state to take the test for AZ?

I ask because no matter what state you take the test in, if you designate AZ as your BON, you would still be constrained by the AZBN approval process. The only reason to leave the state to test would be for an earlier date I guess. But wouldn't you still need your ATT from the BON with can take 1-3 weeks to get after graduation.

I just re read your comment and saw you stated you took the test the day after recieving your ATT. I originally misread and thought you said 1 day after graduating. Big difference and makes way more sense now. Haha

Haha I wish! It was still about 3 weeks after graduating.

I was able to get an interview and my nclex date isn't for another week.

I just got an email for an interview Friday. I was out of town and replied Monday. How long did it take you guys to set up the interview and any advice on the interview process??

For clarification for anyone reading this, I went out of state for an earlier test date. I still had to wait to receive my ATT from AZBN, but instead of testing approx 2 weeks after getting my ATT, I tested the next day by going out of state. Just wanted to clear up any confusion!
