I have been going to school for nursing since 2002, obtained my LPN and now just passed my NCLEX-RN. Just wondering if there are hopsitals who hire ADN-RN who are not Americans.:

I am still taking classes for fall in the same college with same 1-20 that expires in DEc. The classes transfer to my new university and that how they figured that I couldstill be on CPT until I offcially transfer to the new School, just to save on costs.

The CPT is for while you were in their nursing program, you are done with it since you graduated from there. The CPT is normally done when you finish that program, the OPT is used for the year afterwards.
Please be very careful with what you are doing.
You really need to speak to an immigration attorney as soon as possible, or you could find yourself in much trouble.
Rule One: Never assume anything. You are done with one degree, so anything having to do from that needs to be stopped, when you are at the new school and enrolled in the new program. Continuing on with the old CPT is actually not legal for you to be doing.

Thankyou for letting me know. The DSO suggested this based on the fact that I registered for a different program, wilth a different 1-20. I think he okey because this university is located in the same college that I have been attending, and the University DSO had to write a letter to a prove that clinical experience was part of the degree program incase immigration questioned. Its like a university located in the same campus as thr college, different name. i dont know if you understand.
N-way I started the visa screen and had afew questions.
Which visa category do I choose? What is TN? Also can I choose the green card option, and if so what visa am I applying for? Do I even qualify? I know H1c dont exist any more n H1b is the last option to go for. Again I qualify for category 212 (certification statement, but i cant figure out where to choose that option from. Do I still pirchase the Visa screen product if I qualify for this certificate statement.
Thanks.

I understand completely, but the fact remains that you are now under a different program as you stated yourself. You are supposed to be waiting until you meet the requirements for the new program to be able to work. you cannot just get the CPT, or use the old one as you are doing now.
And yes, to be able to get a green card or any type of visa as an RN, you must have a Visa Screen Certificate in hand.
H1-B is not available for most states, nor for most hospitals for nurses. and as a new grad, you are not going to be a specialist either. You need to use the category for the green card, which is permanent resident.
And really do recommend that you speak with an immigration attorney as soon as possible or you could possibly find yourself in quite a bit of trouble here.
Your school does not set the rules and they are not giving you correct information. Any CPT that you had from before no longer exists as you have graduated from that program, once you finish it, you would be using the OPT if you had it. You are also not enrolled in any classes right now, so the CPT is not valid for you either based on that alone.
Best of luck to you.
(Your program made one mistake by telling you that you did not qualify for the OPT, unless you did it while you were in the RN program; so that makes this even more important for you.)
