With the economy still improving I'm guessing that there isn't much in terms of incentives. But, I won't be surprised if there are still a few available out there. Does your work place offer any incentives for new nurses? How about for current employees moving from one position to another? Were you offered any incentives when you were hired? What was it and how long ago was this?
I just graduated. While in school I worked per diem as a CNA at our public hospital. It just got re-certified as Magnet hospital for the third time. I was offered a job as a full-time RN. They reimbursed my NCLEX fees. I am also in the new grad residency program now, where I have a clinical coach, SIMS lab weekly, etc that the hospital has. I had to sign a promissory note that I will get my BSN within 3 years, but they do offer full in-state rate tuition reimbursement for that in exchange for promissory note that you will stay for 18 months after the last reimbursement paid out. All employees get end of the year bonuses (not much) and we get "turkey checks" before Christmas for $25.
I do consider myself a lucky one out of my class to already have a job, while my classmates are searching. I did work hard while in school and it paid off.

Um, clearly you don't know all. My facility offers sign on bonuses. Many nurses have been there several years. We are part of a large corporation and our facility "won" the patient satisfaction award for our district for 2013. If staff isn't happy, patients aren't happy. There ARE facility that offer sign on bonuses that ARE great places to work. I'm sorry you haven't had the same experience....
