Are colors consistant across all brands of scrubs?

Published

I'm ordering off of Lydia's uniforms and I don't want to order Wine pants of one brand and have a Wine top in Cherokee and have it be two different shades. But Cherokee doesnt make the pants I like.

Is it usually consistant?

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I'm pressed for time and will get an answer here faster.

Some colors are more consistent than others, from what I've noticed. I have never had any trouble with my clinical scrubs, which are a royal blue and from different brands. Although, I have a pair of grey scrubs that are two different shades, which is so frustrating (but it looks okay).

Two things I would recommend with ordering online: One would be to order from the same brand, which will almost always be the same shade (Amazon carries a bunch of Cherokee, which is my favorite). Two would be to order a different color top and bottom. I have a really nice burgundy top that I couldn't match whatsoever, so I decided to buy black pants.

trust me each brand has a slightly different color! ive had this same issue..found a top i liked but the bottoms i hated, but found other brand bottoms i liked. the difference in color was easy to see. i was told to get pewter or steel color, depending on the brand. at work i see every nurse wearing everything from a light gray all the way to dark charcoal and even some like almost look navy blue. but everyones tags say pewter or steel. pretty crappy we cant mix brands :(

I wear hunter green and Koi pants match with Cherokee tops

I have numerous sets of navy scrubs (I have no idea why, honestly) and for the most part, they're similar enough that you wouldn't really be able to tell they're different, but they're definitely different

I know this is an old thread, but I've got a new position and a specific color I must wear (caribbean blue). I am having the same problem with matching that specific color between different brands. I've got tops that lean towards tealish-blue and pants that are so dark they are dark teal or almost forest green. But I wondered about the suggestion above. Do people wear a layered top that hangs out of (below) their scrub top? I wouldn't have even considered that; it seems like a sloppy look. Whenever I wear a long-sleeved t-shirt, I tuck it into my scrub pants. Do people wear an undershirt or camisole hanging out?

I do. I wear a long sleeve shirt in a contrasting color under all of my scrubs. I never tuck them in- I hate the feeling of tucked-in shirts, and I hate that so many scrub tops are baggy and kind of short and tend to leave the gathered/pouchy waist of scrub pants showing, or even gap when you sit or squat. I think that looks sloppy, and a long undershirt fixes it.

I've seen many other people do this also, never struck me as sloppy. It's a pretty common style in street clothing at the moment, and no manager has ever said anything about it to me even at places with strict dress codes.

Emmy, thanks for the reply. It's been a few weeks and I've seen exactly what you're talking about with the gap between the top and the bottom when you bend over or squat (bare skin). Some of the girls where I work do the same as you and it looks great! They even wear neon green or hot pink and it looks pretty cool. So I've come around on the long-sleeve t shirt and am not tucking mine in, either. So far, I've only worn my collection of white long-sleeve tees but I have a black one for winter and will get a few other colors.
