I just completed Kaplan's diagnostic exam online, but unlike the Qbank noticed that I was not given the opportunity to review the answers? Is this common or do I need to contact them.

when you participate in the kaplan classroom, they don't discuss the rationales either. i can just imagine your face when you realized the rationales were not made available to you online! with the classroom version of kaplan, you had to ask for the diagnostic question/answer booklet--otherwise you would never see them. then, you are only allowed to review the booklet during their office hours. and, most likely, the only time you are able to go to there facility/office is when you are attending the class so you must miss class time in order to review the rationales. for $499.00 it didn't make sense to me!!??!!
is there a kaplan office near you. hopefully so, then you can drive by there (they usually have saturday classes so they are open) and review the rationales.
i hated not knowing the rationales behind the diagnostic questions. :angryfire considering the price being charged, kaplan could at least have an area on their website that allows you to see the rationales. i looked all over, while i had my 3-month access; but couldn't find them so i "assumed" they were not available.
to ease your mind, contact them. i'm hoping they have changed their process since i signed up with them.
good luck with your studies and your nclex!!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. It just had me so perplexed.

Thanks for the info. Others who read this can be forewarned when deciding whether they want to part with $499 for the Kaplan program.
Don't count Kaplan out as a review source just because they do not provide you with the rationales for the first test that is given (Diagnostic). I "think" the reason why they do not want you to jump into reading the rationales is because they want you to go through their process of determining the correct answer. However, most people just want to look at what they did wrong...it's only natural. :nuke:
The Diagnostic test is the first test given by Kaplan. It is given so that you will have an idea as to were you are in the study process to prepare for NCLEX. Kaplan requests a 65% minimum grade on the Diagnostic. If you take the in class version of Kaplan, the Diagnostic Test is all that is done on the first day. On day 2, you get the test results from your Diagnostic (a printout with your overall percentage and the percentage for each NCLEX category). The instructor briefly explains what you are looking at.Then, you begin learning how to analyze/break down NCLEX questions. Online you will get this same scoring process that you can print out. Then, online, you begin watching the videos and practicing questions (exact replica of what is done in class)
I can understand their process but I still believe they should provide people with "something" if you are utliziing Kaplan online. With everything else that is done, you will receive your rationales.
