Hello all,
I am applying for the Fall 2018 ARC SCC cohort and was looking for a group to join; I didn't find one so I thought I would make a post.
Are there any students who already have Bachelor's that are applying to the program? I am looking into funding and what to do for work while in the program because we do not qualify for aid.
Is anyone applying for scholarships? Anyone going to be working full-time during the program?
Also, is anyone else having trouble finding a TEAS testing time around Sacramento?
Good luck everyone!
This is part of how SCC incorporates pharm in their curriculum. Another part of how SCC does this is they require students to include drug info with every care plan. Oh, and it's very true that you often do give the same meds when you're on a given floor or unit. This fact is also why you go to different floors and hospitals during school. You get exposed to different facets of nursing and different meds. If you keep a list of all meds you give or research during school, you'll find that you have a decently long list but less than half that list will be given most of the time.
Same with Sierra. Med sheets are required for all care plans. Meds are definitely overwhelming first semester, but it begins to come together around second.
Hi guys!Luckily, I got into both SCC Fall 2018 and ARC Fall 2018! What are the pros and cons? I know both programs are really great, that's why it's hard to choose!
They're both very good. Seriously. The way I chose which one to attend was based on the schedule and how well it meshed with my work schedule. IIRC ARC did a Monday-Thursday schedule and SCC did a Tues-Friday schedule. Most of the time my SCC schedule was from about 8am - 2pm (give or take about a half hour on either end) and that worked great with my work sched as I worked 3pm - 11 pm Thurs - Monday. I lived in the South Sacramento area at the time so going to ARC vs SCC would have meant adding another 20-30 minutes to the commute but otherwise that wouldn't have been too bad.
So all it all really came down to how the programs would have fit into my life at that time. SCC happened to fit things the way I needed them to fit at the time. I'm 100% confident that I would have gotten just as excellent an education at ARC.
Congratulations about getting to make that choice! I also was accepted to both schools to start the very same semester too.
