Hello. Congrats to all who have heard back with good news, and congrats to all who have worked so hard to even be eligible to apply! For those still waiting to hear back for the Inland Empire campus, I heard back this afternoon and was admitted to the I.E. campus cohort. You all should also be getting an answer back soon for I.E. campus Good luck!

Any other references or links posted are not TOS-approved, and will be removed.

We wish you success In your Nursing program!

Hi friends!

I received an acceptance into the I.E campus this morning. I am so excited to meet everyone from our cohort. Congrats to all those you have been accepted and best of those working hard to get into nursing school.

Hello Future Nurses,

Congratulations to all who have been accepted in the Summer 2022 (May cohort)! I am thinking now they have they send all the acceptances by now. I have been admitted to the main campus Azusa and look forward to seeing you all there for the first meeting where all students congregate before our school starts.

Now just fyi for my stats-

No nursing experience however I was previously enrolled but did not complete UCLA MSN program in 2012.

3.3 GPA from UC Irvine (Bio major) and I still need 2 pre-reqs done which I am working on - Physiology with lab and psych research methods class.

I think what made me accepted was good interview and my uniqueness. I am a 33 year old male and I am from Asian Indian descent (which our race don't choose this major- they are all doctors or engineers) but I stood out from the rest..... I think it makes up for lack of nursing experience.

Thank you for reading.

Hi everyone,

My name is Diana. I recently apply for Fall 2022 (main campus and I selected the option to be considered for IE campus).

I was curious what the application process looked like for you all. I'm really nervous considering how competitive most programs are and would appreciate any insight you all have to offer.  ?

Hi Diana!

Best of luck to you ? I recently got in for Summer 2022. I suggest you look up interview questions and really practice them out loud. My interview was over Google Meetings. The questions I was asked were:

- How has the pandemic affected you?

- Name your three strengths and three weaknesses?

- Tell me a situation where you had a conflict and how you dealt with it?

- Why do you want to apply to APU?

- What are your current goals?

I graduated from UCR in 2020 with a 3.2 GPA. Retook some prerequisites and my non-science GPA is 4.0 and science GPA is 3.83. I don't have any nursing experience but I'm currently working as a medical scribe! Hope this helps ?

Hi! I got accepted into Summer 2022. Let me tell you, I really thought I wasn't going to be accepted due to my GPA, but I feel like my experiences and passion for the field really shined through in my interview.

I have a Bachelor's in Public Health, with a non-science GPA of 3.34 and science GPA of 3.0! My experiences include volunteering abroad in Vietnam and working as a nursing assistant in a skilled nursing facility and at a hospital (during covid, which I heavily mentioned to my interviewer LOL). Definitely structure your answers by highlighting your experiences and how they are important to your nursing career. For example, in a question about experiencing an ethical dilemma, I talked about how an old coworker would purposely wait until the end of a shift to change a patient. Then, I shared my steps into resolving the problem. Lastly, I cycled back to the importance of prioritizing patient safety and always doing the right thing by reaching out to your chain of command.

In preparing for the interview, I wrote in a Google doc a list of potential questions and answered away, making sure I include as many valuable experiences as I could. This made it easier to remember during my interview. Also, I researched APU's values and what the school does for their students. For example, I know that they love working with the community and encourage studying abroad. They're also a Christian school, which I thought of it as a new and exciting way to learn. Look across their website and see what values of theirs align with yours.

Other questions they asked me were:

- Why the APU ELM program?

- How do you handle stress?

- What does the word nurse mean to you?

- When you're experiencing a stressful time at work, how do you relax?

You got this! If I could get in with a low (compared to everyone else's) GPA, anyone can. Just prepare well for the interview.
