Hello everyone,
I am in the process of applying to APU ELM program for Spring of 2019. I was just looking to connect to other applicants. I will be applying to the main campus. If anyone has any questions feel free to post, I have found the older forums from previous cohorts to be very helpful when looking for advice.
Can those who have been through the interview process before share their experience? I know they go over your prerequisites and ask why you want to be a nurse ect. But what else do they ask? Anything challenging? Also, what is the essay prompt like? It seems they only allow 25 minutes. Any info or advice is greatly appreciated!
The interviewer asked me about an ethical dilemma I faced working in healthcare. They asked me to name two strengths I possess that set me apart from others. Ummm they asked why nursing and why Azusa. That's all I can remember off the top of my head.
@somedayfnp Thanks! That doesn't sound too bad. What was the writing part like?
Hi Everyone!
I also applied to the Feb 15th ELM-FNP program at Azusa. I was wondering if anyone knew why this is a 4 year program compared to Samuel Merrits 3 years? I also saw some ELM programs in Boston which are all three years. I tried to look at the curriculum but didn't really make much sense to me. If there are any current students that are willing to tell me how they like the program that would be really great!

This is what I found out from the previous interview--
pre-licensure work is about 18 months, you receive your BSN and are required to obtain RN license to move forward in the MSN program. You must work for 1 year as an RN, but you may complete most of the didactic portion which is a hybrid of online and in person classes of the post-licensure courses before completing the MSN clinical portion. I also thinks it varies on the specialty you select for the MSN. Hope this helps you.

Okay, I wonder why they wouldnt just say Azusa/Monrovia as a location but they have them separated, which made me think they were two separate locations. Also, does anyone know approximately how many applications they receive for the main campus?
