APU ELM Spring 2019

Hello everyone,

I am in the process of applying to APU ELM program for Spring of 2019. I was just looking to connect to other applicants. I will be applying to the main campus. If anyone has any questions feel free to post, I have found the older forums from previous cohorts to be very helpful when looking for advice.

I was accepted to cal state San Marcos' fall term. I'm pumped bc all the cal states have solid programs and high nclex pass rates. It's also 24 months which I like, I don't want to do any of these 12-15 month programs, I think it's too much too fast and you may end up sacrificing performance eventually in a course. But I just realize there are certain pros about APU that are better for the long term. It's to the point now that I'd probably reapply for summer if I didn't get in, but hopefully I just get accepted for spring!!

Congrats on San Marcos! Yeah I agree with you about the accelerated programs and I am also going to reapply if I don't get in this term, applications for summer are due June 1st. Which is not very far away. I am really hoping we find out this week.

@inkabruce Congrats on CSUSM! I'm also planning on applying there but APU is my first choice. I know a couple people who've done the CSUSM program and really liked it. I'm hoping we hear back today, it was so hard to wait over the weekend.

@aschreiman Haha! I know SD said they're sending letters but I really hope they end up doing emails or calls instead.

I called my program rep earlier for main campus and he said that decisions have not been made yet. I explained my situation regards to accepting/declining the other program by tomorrow and he said he'll contact them and get back to me later with an update, but I don't think it'll be an official decision.

@inkabruce That's strange, I thought they all met Friday to make decisions. I hope you hear back soon so you can give CSUSM an answer by tomorrow. Good luck and keep us posted!

I hope we find out soon the deadline for summer term is quickly approaching and I would reapply if I don't get in

@aschreiman Same here! Do you know what the process is for reapplying? Do you have to write a new letter and get all new recommendations? Or can you just resubmit everything?

From what I understand you can reuse everything you just have to pay the fee. I'm not sure though
