APU ELM Nursing Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I am currently in the process of applying to APU's ELM Nursing program for the the Fall of 2019. Applications are not due until October 1st, however I feel like this forum might help as a sort of support group for one another as we reach towards our goal as future NPs!

Good luck as interview invites go out everyone!

has any one heard anything back?

I was informed you can check your status by logging back into your application.. Good luck! I also applied to this term.

I'm getting back from my interview today! I got called last week of sept and went in first week of oct. The interview was like what everyone before has said. I would be prepared for any standard interview question like handling conflict, examples of how you perform under stress etc. Also it sounds like admission team isn't meeting until January this year

Good luck all!

It definitely wasn't 150 like last falls! Seemed more like the average 80 according to admin office

I hope you do too! I'm not sure what to expect because today at my interview in San Diego she told me they're meeting in January... obviously I'd like to find out sooner so I can gauge what's going on in regards to other applications.

Which campus are you applying to?

Do you mind my asking why you're all applying to apu? Is it convenient with location and timing? The specialty, structure of program and does the faith profession of the school play a role for you?im just trying gauge what kind of students are attracted to the program and why.

For me I like the way they award the 18 month bsn, small cohort and where the clinical rotations are. I'm also local and my family (with little nieces and nephews) are here so I like that I can be close to home. I moved back last year to be close to Family after being away for 8 years. This whole nursing journey was unexpected and has taken so much more work than I thought when I decided to pursue it. Today felt kind of surreal like wait a minute... I'm actually here, it's time for admissions interviews?! Felt like prerequisites would never end haha

Is anybody applying to IE or Azusa/Monrovia site?

I applied for the Summer 2019 term and was open to all campuses. I got accepted to Inland Empire for Fall of 2019. Wasn't expecting for the semester to be bumped up but I am just thrilled to be in!!!! I am looking for a Fall 2019 FB group but haven't seen any yet. If anyone wants to join a FB group after getting accepted to IE for fall 2018 here is the one I just made since it seems none have been made yet. Log into Facebook | Facebook

Hi Everyone!

I just applied for the Fall 2019 Term for the ELM MSN Program at San Diego as well. I received a call to come in for an Interview a few days after I submitted my Application. I am really looking forward to the Interview and hopefully to work with all upcoming 20 students next year and would like to connect before our term starts if you would like too?

I was informed from the Director that there will be a passage that I need to read then summarize. If you had your Interview already - what kind of Question or Passage did you read and what kind of question did you have to answer? Also, What type of questions during the interview did the Professor ask besides 2 weaknesses/strength questions did the Professor ask? I would appreciate any kind of feedback so that I can hopefully prepare before my interview. Would love to hear from you!

Good Luck to all of you!

Exciting! I was asked things like describe a time you were very stressed and how handled it, describe a time of confrontation and how you dealt etc. She had a sheet of questions with 3 circled so I think I would googled like "typical nursing school interview questions" and just come prepared.

There was no prompt for the writing piece they just said write a response. It was an op-ed by someone giving advice for students who are doubting themselves during nursing school. It was all very welcoming, I didn't feel I was being tested or judged. So I wouldn't worry it's going to be a high intensity environment. Just come prepared and be able to show you know what you're getting yourself into with nursing school :)

HI @stira11 I submitted my application a few days before the deadline! :)
