Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I am currently in the process of applying to APU's ELM Nursing program for the the Fall of 2019. Applications are not due until October 1st, however I feel like this forum might help as a sort of support group for one another as we reach towards our goal as future NPs!

So, I thought I had been accepted to main campus but apparently ill be attending to the Monrovia site. Can any one explain if you been accepted to attend campus, we have to attend to the Monrovia site?

Main Campus and monrovia are synonymous. You’ll have some courses at the Azusa campus during prelicensure and when we start our MSN portion

@RoadtoPMHNP

oh myy! Got it! Thank you for clarifying... looking forward to see everyone this Friday.

I am currently a student in the ELM program at Monrovia.

Monrovia is this programs "Main Campus" it is maybe 10-12 minutes from the actual main campus. You complete the first part of the program in Monrovia, the BSN portion and the MSN classes are offered at Main Campus (in Azusa) or online.

Personally I like Monrovia, you don't have to worry about parking most the time and no permit is needed.

Yes, that’s correct. On the email for the interview it let’s you know that the first couple of months it’s at the Monrovia campus then after it’s the main Azusa campus.

@RoadtoPMHNP I was accepted for spring 2020 sd as well! Yay!

Hello all,

I just found this thread and am applying to the ELM program for Fall 2020. Since most of you have gone through this process I wanted to ask about the essay and how you went about it. Thanks for any advice!

Hi everyone! I'm not sure if anyone is still following these older forums but I thought id try anyways! I was accepted into the Spring 2021 cohort at the IE campus and I'm on the waitlist for Fall 2020... I just recently found out that I am pregnant, so I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give me a little bit of a timeline of the first/second semester of the program? Maybe some tips on some things I can study to get ahead. I am unable to see which textbooks are used for the first semester but any insight would be extremely appreciated!

Hello,

CONGRATS. First semester is pretty busy. We had class Monday, Thursday, Friday and clinicals either Tues or Weds depending on what group you are in. 2nd semester is the busiest but they are rearranging how they do it, so it would be different for you than it was for us. Generally you would have one day during the week off and weekends. But we ended up with a Saturday clinical for 2nd semester due to changes. You really have to be flexible with whatever is thrown at you because changes are last minute sometimes with clinical sites. I hope that helps a little. I know they are changing quite a few things and there have been staffing changes so may be a whole different schedule for you.

Hello,

I got accepted for Spring 2022 in San Diego for the ELM program when I originally applied for Summer 2021 and I am currently on the waitlist to hopefully either start in the Summer or Fall of 2021. I was wondering if its common for students to want to push their start date?

If you are at the San Diego campus. How do you like the campus?

Also I was wondering if there's any advice/tips anyone would like to give that I should know ahead of time. Does anyone have any good study tips that they would also like to recommend?

Thank you so much! I am excited and can't wait to start!
