Hello,
I am currently in the process of applying to APU's ELM Nursing program for the the Fall of 2019. Applications are not due until October 1st, however I feel like this forum might help as a sort of support group for one another as we reach towards our goal as future NPs!
Just a reminder that I started a FB group for the Fall 2019 Inland Empire cohort. Please join if you got in. Have only heard from 2 so far and there surely must be more.

I applied October 1st for Fall 2019 admission. I got an interview invite a week later. My interview date was on November 19th, and then they let me know their decision sometime in February.
I chose APU out of all of the other masters nursing programs because I do think APU is very accomodating. I am finishing up my APU undergraduate degree as an Allied Health major. I thought having this major would be a safety net just in case nursing didn’t worked out. But overall, i really do think that APU is a very accomodating school, even for undergrad, and I think that it’s really important to have a helpful staff and mentors guiding you. Granted, I am not in the program yet to say what the staff is like, but I do think that APU really lives up to their mission statements. I’m sure there are some flaws, but that’s with other nursing programs too. I’m sure there are a lot of people on here and future potential nurses who feel the same uncertainties about nursing, but APU helped me grow a deeper appreciation for nursing and help me find why I am passionate about taking care of children and hopefully specializing in mental health.
I hope this helps!

Which masters program r u choosing at APU? U got an interview quick!! They told me in April they will start setting interviews. Do u think they called u so quick because u already attend APU? What were some of the questions they asked in the interview. Thank u so much for ur response.

I am in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care Program. I'm not sure if they called me so quick because I am already an APU student. There were other people before my interview, and I don't think they were APU students. The program director asked me general questions about why I wanted to do nursing. The question that I was not prepared for was when they asked me to describe a time when I dealt with an ethical dilemma. It was really more of a relaxed conversation with the program director.

I had my interview on google hangout this morning! I originally applied for the Spring 2020 but in my interview she said there was space for me available for the Fall 2019 cohort and of course I said yes!! She mentioned that my first few semesters are in Monrovia and my last semester will be in Azusa so would that fall under the Monrovia location?
