Hello,
just starting a forum thread so all applicants or future applicants can communicate with each other regarding the application.
I have applied to Azusa Pacific ELM program for Spring 2021 at the Inland Empire. I have not gotten an interview yet but hopefully soon, fingers crossed. Anyone gotten a response yet?
Hi!
I had a question about the APU clinical sites, like where can I find a list of them? I am interested in working for LAC+USC or for LA County DPH upon graduation and I know having a clinical is helpful for job prospects. I know Western University does them there but does anyone know about APU? Also, I was reading that after the first two years, we would graduate with our BSN and then continue for our MSN. Is that correct? It was a footnote on their website where I read that but I just wanted to confirm.
Thanks for the information!

Hi ALM. I think there’s a new forum for people who applied to Summer 2021.
I am a re-applicant myself. I also would like to know how many people made it after 2-3 tries.
Sorry for the super late reply to your post. I am currently in a Zoom call for the open house for Azusa at my location, San Diego. I never went to an orientation and wanted more info. I found out that the pre-licensure is 18 months and at the end, you get a BSN, can sit for the NCLEX, and work as an RN. Then you do the post-licensure where you finish with your MSN in about 2 years. I had been curious about this as well because other ELM/MEPN programs are only MSN. They said they do this so you actually get two degrees, a BS and an MS, can work right away, and so that there is no question when it comes to your degrees. This way takes a bit longer, but I think that it is pretty cool as I have heard that some hospitals question just the MSN from these programs. Hope this helps ?

I knew that the pre-licensure portion and post-licensure portion were separate but I didn't know you were awarded a BS at the end of the pre-licensure. I just thought you got your RN license. With that being said, do you know if you HAVE TO continue after the pre-licensure portion? Like, are you awarded the BS and MS at the same time at the very very end of the program? I only ask because I want to get my doctorate and I don't technically need to become an NP. I only need my BS and my License. I cant find anyone who is in the same boat as me LOL ??
@Sieldani they strongly encourage you to finish the masters portion of the program. If you only want a BS I would look into ABSN programs so it’s leaves spots open for us who want to get a masters.

I mean, ya they’ll encourage you to finish the masters portion. Im just saying if I could potentially cut 2-3 years off I would definitely rather do that. I have already accepted my offer, but who knows, I may not even get into a doctorate program which will leave me with my backup of continuing the masters portion. Of course I had all intentions of completing the masters portion and continuing my doctorate after that simply because I didn't realize this program awards 2 degrees. Other ELM programs don't do that. Otherwise I would have considered an ABSN program
