Hello Everyone :)
I am looking to apply for the Fall 2018 ELM program at APU. I'll be done with my bachelors early 2018 and finishing up Organic Chemistry before I submit my application. I'm making this post to see where other people are at looking to apply and we all can help each other out if needed. Good luck to everyone :)
I'm sorry to hear this @irockwell76. Your resume sounds pretty impressive to me! I also got the rejection letter today too. It does seem as if they put a lot of emphasis on science gpa, which I can not compete with a 3.8 either. I heard that this cycle was very competitive This time around. There is a school out there for us! Let's not give up! And congrats and good luck to everyone who got in this cycle!
I just checked the mail, I too got my denial letter. I'll be trying again for next semester if I don't hear back from Samuel Merritt. Congrats again to those who got in!
For reference my stats were: 3.6 science GPA, 3.5 nonscience, 2.9 bachelors GPA in exercise physiology, 1000+ hours paid patient care hours, currently working as a medical scribe/medical assistant.
Better luck next time!

I am sorry to hear this @cvnursing but please reapply to APU if you don't hear back from samuel. ( i hope you do but your stats are not much different than mine so I know you are so close to get in and I also like your shrek)
I rember looking at interviewer's paper (she didn't show me the points system I just happened to see it...) , for sciences GPA maximum points you can earn starts 3.7 GPA and over... so I assume that if we have 3.7 and above we earn max points for GPA.
When I went to info session at APU, they emphasized that retake any class if you earn C. My interviewer had C as my statistic class but I was able to send her proof that I got B grade in different statistic class.
Good luck and I believe in YOU and everyone!

I just received my letter today, 'DENIED' Admission'.
I applied for Azusa Pacific University Entry Level Masters' in nursing (ELM) program for FALL 2018 cohort, requesting San Diego regional campus only.
I graduated with a bachelor degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College in October 2017, with an overall 3.5 GPA.
I graduated from Southwestern College in May of 2017 with an Associates of Arts Degree in : Allied Health
Science prerequisites were: CHEM 100: 'A', CHEM Organic: 'A', Microbiology: 'B', Psychology: 'B', Sociology: 'A', Anatomy Phys I: 'C', Anatomy Phys II: 'B'.
Non Science prerequisites were: Lifespan Growth Development: 'A', Statistics: 'B', Oral Communication: 'A'.
I had not yet completed a 'Research Methods in Psych/Sociology' course.
At Southwestern College, I was a member of Psi Theta Kappa honor society. My GPA for my AA in Allied Health from Southwestern College was 3.78
At the time that I submitted my application I was enrolled in a CNA program. I just graduated from my CNA course with an 'A' on December 14th.
I really was not expecting to be DENIED admission to APU ELM. I am really surprised. I also applied to USD's MEPN. I will be retaking 'Anatomy & Physiology I' via Excelsior Colleges' BIOX Exam for credit to hopefully earn at least a 'B' this time around.
All my college credits were earned while working full-time as a US Navy Enlisted Sailor.
My plans are to attend nursing school full-time immediately following retiring from the Navy in August of 2018, with over 21 years of Military Service including 5 years as an active duty US Marine.
I guess I better get started on plan C, apply to Cal State San Marcos: 2nd Degree Accelerated Bachelor's and plan D, apply to National University's BSN program.
So I'm not good enough for APU ELM-San Diego.
I see that others who mentioned that they were accepted for FALL 2018, had overall 3.8 GPA's. I must admit that I cannot compete with that.
Congrats to all accepted! :-)
