Hello Everyone :)
I am looking to apply for the Fall 2018 ELM program at APU. I'll be done with my bachelors early 2018 and finishing up Organic Chemistry before I submit my application. I'm making this post to see where other people are at looking to apply and we all can help each other out if needed. Good luck to everyone :)
Had my interview today. It went well I thought. Very informal. She asked about a time I faced an ethical dilemma while working as a CNA. She also asked why nursing and why APU. She also asked me to name two strengths I have. Before the beginning you have to read and summarize an article in your own words. It was pretty easy. She also said that they might have a decision next week but most likely the decisions will be sent out mid January. Good luck everyone!!
Thank you @Doctav! My cumulative GPA is 3.47 and my Science GPA is 3.80. One of the success coach from Azusa, told me if your GPA is around 3.50 you have a good chance, having a strong science GPA will really boost up your points too. I worked as a Cardiac Care Tech for a Cardiac Care Unit for only about 6 months; the role is similar to a nurse assistant. I am currently working at a Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Tech. I told my interviewer that I work in Pharmacy now, since I want to get familiar with medications. I let her know it would be beneficial for me since I aspire to be a Nurse Practitioner. If you don't really have Healthcare experiences don't worry too much about it. You can let them know you're working on get a job in Healthcare or if you done any volunteer work, let them know too. Just be passionate about your career goals and personal goals. Good luck!
For the people that interviewed in San Diego. The email tells to arrive no more than 10 minutes prior to our interview, but it sounds like many people showed up before this. Can anyone tell me what they did please? Our email says the writing prompt is after the interview, but some people are saying they did it before. Thank you for the information! Best of luck to everyone this week interviewing! Praying for all of us to get accepted on this form!
@SAKADOOSHBUBBZ
I had interview in SD. I follow the direction in the email.
I arrived at the office 10 min prior to the interview time and had to wait at the office. you will have the interview first then writing comes next. I think each location dose differently.
good luck on your interview! It's very relaxed! no worries!

Hello!
I had an interview the day before thanksgiving for the main location. My interview went very well, I wasn't nervous. She asked me many questions such as why I want to be a nurse, and other questions to get to know my personality. She also went over the program. Prior to the interview, I was given an article, the instruction was to rewrite the story in your own words. It was a pretty easy and I highlighted important details about the article. My advice, is to be comfortable and be yourself! I applied for the program 2 days before the deadline, so I was surprised I got an email regarding an interview a few weeks later. I think it helps that I personally dropped of my application at the Graduate Center and I am a current student at Azusa Pacific University. I wish you all the best of luck! Got to get back to work! â¤ï¸ God Bless!
