APU BSN Summer 2021

Hey everyone,

I have just submitted my application for the Summer BSN program at APU. Has anyone else submitted their application or would anyone else like to share their stats?

 

Science GPA: 3.16

Overall: 3.66

Good luck! I found the HESI to not be too terrible. I scored pretty will overall and pretty high up on the math! Most of the questions are definitely a best not to overthink or you’ll doubt yourself! 
 

Does anyone know if this is pretty typical of Azusa to not send out rejections this late? They’re what about 25 days out from starting the semester. I haven’t applied so I’m not sure on what their exact process is.

I took the TEAS and did super well but it was four years ago and the cut off is three. So with my GPA I only need to get the minimum of 42 because I have alot of points but I am refreshing because I still want to get a good score

Would anyone be interested in forming a group chat or something? There's so much info and to do's, it might be nice to be able to communicate about it.

HEY! yes I think that would be helpful.... have you gotten any other info yet or just the initial "congrats" email? I have also submitted FAFSA but my Rep is out for the whole week.

 

How should we communicate ? Text?

hey! I noticed you mentioned FAFSA and I just received my FAFSA offers. 2 of them are loans, one being a subsidized loan and the other being an unsubdized loan. I read that the subsidized doesn’t gain interest while you’re in school atleast half time but the subsidized loan does. I’m torn on whether or not I should take the unsubsidized loan. If anyone else can share what they plan to do I would love to hear it because all of this is so new to me and I just would like to see what other people are planning to do regarding the financial part

You did ? no way! when did you submit it ? I know it takes a while sometimes.... what I would do is get the Subsidized loans to cover the majority of the cost because we (the student) does not pay as much interest on that. And if you do work, pay the interest only on the unsub loans.

I submitted the 2021-2022 about a week and a half ago and then I was told I must fill out the 2020-2021 FAFSA as well which was about a week ago and I received my offers about 3 days ago! and that sounds like a good plan. Thank you for sharing that. I’m just curious if the interest is going to be a great amount or not. I asked my financial advisor how much this semester will cost but I haven’t heard back from her yet

I believe Summer is 9500$ from what I was told. :)

For those accepted at high dessert program, anyone looking for housing that is interested in teaming up for an apartment? I’ve been looking for many places but I would definitely prefer to team up with someone from this program. Will be very convenient for carpooling and studying hahahahaha
