You guys can wait until orientation! Especially since I know they've made changes to the progression schedule since my cohort started last year. There's no rush to register since the last day to register is May 17th, a week after the semester begins. I don't mean to worry you but as far as I know, the acceptance fee is only for freshman undergraduate students! Although I know they're always changing things. But if you got direct instructions from the nursing program to pay it then just disregard what I mentioned! There really isn't anything else to do other than wait and celebrate your acceptance! Some advice I can give to newly accepted students would be:

  • Make sure your FAFSA is filled out for the 2021-2022 school year
  • Invest in a good laptop and printer
  • Gather all of your required documentation or get it done so that you're not rushing at the last minute; by documentation I mean things like titers, 2 step TB test, flu and COVID vaccine, CPR certification, etc.
  • Get a head start on necessary supplies like a decent stethoscope (doesn't have to be expensive!), penlight, medical scissors, multi-colored pen, simple calculator, a waterproof watch with a second hand, a headband/scrub cap with buttons to hold your mask up, a good badge reel, etc.
  • Once you meet everyone in your cohort, start a GroupMe chat so that everyone can contact each other with questions.

This is really good info. I was wondering when we were going to get the info regarding specific medical documentation that was needed. I'll get a start on this. What sort of CPR cert do we need, just BLS?

They will send out emails with all of the specific documentation needed as well as go over it during orientation. Correct BLS; just make sure it's the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider course.

Thanks so much! Very helpful!

Hey guys!

Someone else stated that they asked their advisor regarding when they will hear back and that they responded saying they will be using these next few weeks to review applicants so I think there's still time. Don't lose hope!! ?

If you're interested, here's some info about when orientation is and when the first day of class is (though I am going to the IE campus, not sure if it's the same for the rest):

New Student Orientation: April 26th

Classes begin: May 10th

As for those that have recently received their acceptances, I just received an email about the registration for classes opening. Does anyone know if we are supposed to register for all the courses listed (lectures, labs, and practicums)? Or can we wait until orientation to see our schedule??

Hey!

So I emailed Melissa (I believe she is an advisor for our program at the IE campus) about a week ago asking for a tentative class schedule so that I could figure out my work schedule in advance. She sent me the info along with the cohort # & registration date, so I assumed I was supposed to register for classes when registration opened ?. But I seen a comment further down that said we should wait so now I'm confused LOL. But if y'all would like the tentative schedule for the IE campus, I can give it to you.

You don’t have to wait! I just mentioned it’d be better since I didn’t have the updated course schedule but if you have it on hand, go for it! The only thing is that most of the courses don’t release the course dates and times until a few weeks/days before the class starts which makes it hard to work around but that’s why I mentioned it’s important to have a flexible work schedule?

Hey Maria! Can you help us with registration. Do we wait for orientation ? I just paid my $500 acceptance fee. What’s next? Haha thanks in advance!

Hey neeko, can you tell me how you paid your deposit. I received the email, but don't see a link for it in my dashboard.

Ohh OK. Yah this is true, half of the classes still say TBD for meeting dates and times.

We’ve been fully online since we started aside from skills lab and clinicals! It’s not a regular occurrence so there’s been maybe 2/3 times we’ve seen other cohorts in passing during skills lab and currently we’re in a class with another cohort.

In my “congratulations” email it mentions the 500$ non refundable fee to accept my admission and it shows the options to make a payment. The only option was 1.) Mail in check or money order and 2.) schedule an appt with the cashier via phone. Which is what I did. I scheduled my appt (follow the link) and she called me today. I provided my CC info over the phone.
hope that helps! ?

by the way I am in Monrovia campus and I have not revived anything further than just my congratulations email.
