APU 2+2 BSN program Summer 2022 Admissions

Published

Hi All

I created this thread to see if anyone else is applying to Azusa‘s 2+2 BSN program, either at their Monrovia location, high desert location, or inland empire location?

I have already sent in my application for the Feb 1st cut off.

Here are my stats

Science GPA: 3.53

Total GPA: 3.79

This is all based on me using a GPA calculator online.

I am not sure if my health care and volunteer experience will help but I did put it on my resume.

Volunteer: 10 months at Loma Linda Hospital

Health Care 10 years ( Caregiver then MA)

I am curious to see how everyone else is feeling, which location y’all are planning to apply to and what your stats are.

I am on the same page. I applied last time, got a denial letter both from mail and status to page. Haven't heard from the school. Honestly I have given up and looking forward to another school. I guess Azusa wasn't meant for me. There must be a reason why.

Hi! I keep anxiously checking my portal too & it still says 100% but no denial letter. I applied last term and got a denial letter as soon as acceptances went out so maybe alternates is a possibility? Trying not to get my hopes up ;-/

Ahhh OK I guess some of us are on the same page! I hope we are all alternates and get in ?? nurseC said Wednesday to Friday they will send more info, so maybe we will get an answer Monday and Tuesday finally ??????

Did you get the denial pretty early on too? Yeah, my first time applying here but seems really hard. Might try again next cycle but I’m waiting on a lot of lottery programs so hopefully I get lucky in those! If not, I’m going to bite the bullet and apply to wcu!

Yes. I got the denial letter around the same time of acceptance. This is my third time applying after retaking a science class that I got a B that way I can upgrade to an A. I got the A that I wanted and all of my Sciences are A with recency of two years. I don't know what they are looking for. I am an LVN and have been for 15 years with work experience pretty much on every department except OR and labor and delivery. WCU here I come!

Oh I see. That is odd, you seem to have a lot of experience and all that. I honestly think it’s more than just grades for the application though. My weakest point I think may be the professional goals/personal essay; therefore, I am going to tweak it a bit next application if anything. And I do think letter of recommendations and everything else is just as important. But it definitely sucks when they don’t tell us what it is that we need to work on. I am going to try to apply to more programs one more time especially the lotteries and if not accepted into any, wcu here I come too! Are you applying to other programs as well?

Yes. I applied to Pacific College in Orange County. The program begins May 9th as well. I turned in everything yesterday and will be doing my TEAS next week to begin May 9th.

Oh nice!! You got accepted there?!

I will get in for sure once I pass the TEAS test with 70% and up. I have everything turned in and in good standing.

For those of you guys applying and keep getting denial letters, don't give up! I understand the process and share your frustration with you guys. This is my fourth time applying and I finally got accepted, I was completely ready to give up and be content with my LVN. There are other programs out there so be on the lookout, try hard and don't give it. The hard work will eventually pay off.

Thank you for that encouragement. Did you change anything, like retake classes. Or did it just happen to finally work out with everything the same ?

I has to retake all my sciences, write a new personal statement and new references
