Hello, future RNs!
This is a thread for the APU 2+2 BSN program Spring 2022 admissions.
I'm finishing up my application for APU's LVN to BSN program. I wanted to start a thread for this topic and connect with others applying to APU by the October 1st, 2021 deadline.
Good luck to everyone!

She said I would receive something in the mail, regardless of admission status. I asked if I would see it in my admissions portal too, and she said yes.
So much anxiety…

Stay positive!

Congrats! Thats awesome! f I could give you any advice I would say don't waste your time on reading the book. I did the first few weeks and realized its not helpful. Focus on getting the assignments done quickly so you can study. Also make a list of assignements bc at first its very confusing what each class requires. Sherpath(a set of questions you will have to do a lot) takes forever if you actually read it. Just skip ahead and get those done for the homework aspect. Our foundations class quizzes were the sherpath EAQ questions for the assigned chapter. Everyone failed the first quiz because we studied the powerpoint. so ask if the quizzes are sherpath on day one. If they are make sure you do the create a quiz EAQ ?s on mastery mode or else that quiz will be an almost guaruntee F. so skip through the homework part and get it done fast and do the EAQ mastery mode to study for the test. For pharmacology just watch the lectures a few times. Nursing school is not difficult. It is a lot of work though. You can do it. Good luck on your first semester.

Im assuming tests are online as are the textbooks? Is it worth printing out the powerpoints for visual learners.. I study better from papers..
A few of my classmates open the powerpoint and write on it during lecture w their tablets and some print it out. So yeah that can help. The tests are all online but taken in class except for the health assessment tests which we did at home. It may be different at an other campus but its likely the same. When you start you will be required to buy a book bundle. Theres an ebook bundle($1500) and a print version($1700). the bundle is neccessary because you need the online access to sherpath. sherpath is a online service that is made from elsevier( the people who made the books). For some classes homework you will use it to complete online lessons where you read about the chapter then answer questions. these lessons just skip ahead and get it done fast. It also has EAQ or basically questions you can select from any chapter and go over as a study tool. In foundations we have tests which are not made from the teacher, she uses the sherpath EAQ ?s so unless you have seen the questions before you will do bad on the test. they are all multiple choice select all questions so you really need to do the EAQ ?s for your test. We all failed our first foundations quiz because we didn't know it was made from the EAQ ?s. Anyway just don't spend a lot of time doing the sherpath lessons assigned for homework. If you also have sherpath quizzes for foundations focus on doing the EAQs under create a quiz. It will make your life so much easier.

This may be a dumb question but are the books part of tuition? Or do we have to pay that out of pocket?

Awww that’s not what I wanted to hear? alright I’ll make it work. Can you go anywhere to buy scrubs or do the scrubs come from APU?

The scrubs are from a company APU contracted. I heard they are changing the company this semester though so you may get a better deal than we did.

Well to say you’ve been a huge help is an understatement. Hopefully I get to meet you and thank you sooooo much for the helpful tips and info. Our orientation is on December 9th and I’m super anxious and excited to get all this info so that I can prepare. Thanks to you, I’ve already painted a mental picture of what’s to come so again…thank you so much!
