Applying to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Accelerated Nursing Program Oct 2014

Published

Hi! I just sent out my application for the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh 2nd degree Accelerated Online Nursing program. If I get accepted I will be in the October 2014 cohort. I was just wondering if anyone else has applied & what your experiences are.

thanks Laud0057! I had my online interview this morning and I think it went pretty well. It feels good to be done with the interview process. Now just have to sit and wait!

alia913- congrats on the phone interview :) yeah i was getting nervous too when i didn't get the email for the online interview right away. They are probably just getting more busy with the process and it's taking them longer. I'm sure you will get it soon.

Good luck everybody!

Hello everyone! Just thought I would join the conversation. I too have applied for the October 2014 cohort. I had my phone interview last Friday and actually just finished my email interview about ten minutes ago. Now for the worst part, the waiting game...

Welcome RoystCM90! And I agree, waiting is the worst. Where are you from and where are you planning to complete the program?

I'm originally from Madison, WI but have been living in Whitewater, WI while I finish my undergrad degree at the UW-Whitewater. I will graduate from here in May, and then hoping that I get accepted to the program, I will stay in Whitewater to complete it.

Exciting, what's your major at Whitewater.

I'm majoring in biology with an emphasis on pre-med. Also, does anyone know off hand how many people applied to this cohort?

So... Apparently the approved states were just changed by the associate vice chancellor of academic affairs. It just happened after i did my phine interview. I am heartbroken!!!! My state and a neighboring state where I have family are both no longer included. The program has gone from being accepted in 24 states down to only 11. So unless that changes, I am no longer eligible for the program :'( good luck to you all.

oh no!! that is terrible :( what state were you planning to do it from? i wonder why they can't just keep the same states plus the new ones

I live near Philadelphia, Pa. I was hoping to do it here or in New Jersey. Both states were approved before. I'm very disappointed. :( I'm hoping the states get approved again

So they changed the approved States after you had already applied? That doesn't seem right at all.

I agree! That's a lot of time, money and effort to apply and then have everything changed! That doesn't seem right or fair. How did you find out about that change? They just tell you during your interview? Or did they just contact you because your state is no longer approved?

They called me a week after my interview. Apparently the decision was made by the academic affairs department after I already interviewed. It's heartbreaking.
