Applying to UC Denver Nursing School for Summer 2016

Published

Hello Everyone,

I recently submitted my application to the traditional BSN program at UC Denver starting Summer 2016. I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread so that if anyone else is in the same boat we can give each other moral support, advice, etc.

I got an email back notifying me that the interviews are scheduled for Monday, November 16th. It also said we should expect to hear by November 2nd if we have been asked back for an interview. So nervous but also excited!

For anyone who has already gone through the process, I am so curious as to what the interview is like. So any helpful tips of information would be so appreciated!

I think it went well. It is difficult to gauge though!! How about for you? And everyone else?

Does anyone know how many applicants there actually were?

That's great, I was definitely nervous during the interview:(

I am not sure how many applicants there were, but about 290 interviews and something like 143 are accepted!

I agree, It's tough to gauge how it went. It was very different than I thought it would be though. December never seemed so far away! lol

I'm a little disappointed we only had one question. Our group asked about interviews as well I believe they said 184 get in which includes the 48 that go to south Denver campus. It's super nerve wrecking!! The mock lecture and informational session made me want to be a student there even more! I really hope we all get an acceptance email!

I was hoping for more questions too, especially since my whole group was asked something personal and my question was more broad. Hopefully we all did well, I really liked that they have a peer mentorship program between seniors and juniors, and a student led clinic. After yesterday i want to go there even more!

Specializes in Navy Nurse.

I'll be doing a Skype interview , what kinds of things do they ask and what info did you all Manage to gather from the informational session

I'd love to hear what hey asked, as well. I'll be applying there next year. Was it standard stuff? qualities of a nurse, personal story, something related to ethics, or how to deal with stress?

Has anyone gotten an acceptance letter? They said by Christmas and it hasn't come yet for me. It's killing me!

I haven't heard anything either. I thought they said New Years? I bet we hear on Thursday or Friday

Well I am relieved to hear that I am not the only one who hasn't heard anything. I have been shamelessly refreshing my email every 15 minutes since last Monday (you know, just in case, lol). I don't know why I am all of a sudden so anxious, I've already had to wait over a month! I hope we all get some good news soon!

I think she said she was going to try to send out emails New Years eve or first week in January...

Perfect thank you, I thought she said Christmas! That makes me a little more patiently
