Hello Everyone,
I recently submitted my application to the traditional BSN program at UC Denver starting Summer 2016. I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread so that if anyone else is in the same boat we can give each other moral support, advice, etc.
I got an email back notifying me that the interviews are scheduled for Monday, November 16th. It also said we should expect to hear by November 2nd if we have been asked back for an interview. So nervous but also excited!
For anyone who has already gone through the process, I am so curious as to what the interview is like. So any helpful tips of information would be so appreciated!
Zoe, I think we can be pulled any time up until mid May. I am guessing that people have to send in their letter of intent by Jan 18th so thats when most people will know but the email said they might call us up until mid May.
I also really wish we knew how many people were on the list and where we stand on it. I would feel a lot better knowing if I was 1 or 20 (or whatever). I think it would help me move on mentally
If it makes you feel any better my friend who graduated from CU at the top of her class last spring was accepted via the waitlist 30 days before the program began. She had a previous bachelors, high GPA, lots of HC experience, and had studied abroad. It's hard to say what they look for in an applicant but waitlisted isn't the end of the line. It hurts but it isn't the end. And judging by my friend's performance in the program, it isn't a reflection of you as an applicant. So chins up fellow waitlisted people. I hope we still make it and if not, I hope to see each other as RN's with BSN's regardless.
It is challenging to stay positive tho. I mean I have a family on the line and waiting is so much more stressful when your life isn't the only one affected. Regis application is in the works right now. It's a much further drive for me and a much bigger chunk of change but it is what it is. I had my heart set on those gold and black scrubs but will be happy to settle for navy blue . Still hoping for black and gold tho. I just gotta keep my self focused and get through this last semester. Financial aide application will be out of the question which is another huge slap in the face but... Again, what can ya do?
Zoe,
You can hear any time from January 15 to a few days before the program starts. That is what they told me last year. CU will not be everyone's first choice and they will not accept their acceptance letter and that is where the Wait List will come in. Stay positive. I know exactly how you feel.
I got into the South campus. Did anyone else? I want all of you to know how amazing you are! This is my third try. Not to the same school. I got accepted two times prior to other schools but life got in the way. The first time my dad died of cancer, the second I got married and had to move. So remember that things fall into place eventually! I wish you all the best of luck towards your nursing careers and remember do not give up!
