I'm applying as well, I just moved to Lubbock to take a Phlebotomy class through South Plains College while waiting to hear back from Tech. From what I've heard, they like a good GPA (not outrageous like other schools, but it's always considered), experience in the medical field, volunteer work, & NET scores. Good luck girls!! Hope we all get in! I've applied to Texas Woman's University & didn't get in, so I'm counting on TECH! GO RAIDERS!
Oh thats cool you moved there! how do you like it!? I visited Lubbock earlier in the fall and fell in love with the town! Have u met anyone already in the nursing program? I'm wondering what the average GPA is coming in also. & the NET? I got a 82..
good luck yall, i hope we get in. I am a transfer student as well and love lubbock and just hoping to be accepted. Does anyone know where the majority of nursing students live around/on campus?
So sorry I haven't posted sooner! I was born and raised out here in west Texas so I've always loved Tech and Lubbock. The town itself is awesome, I just hate the stinkin wind and dirt! There are good apartments all around lubbock, and there are also a lot of student housing apartments, all bills paid and you usually have a roommate or 2. I live in my own apartment right off the west side of loop 289 and have easy access to the school and both hospitals. Have either of you applied yet?
thanks for the info, that is very helpful. I have applied for the fall 2009..so im just waiting to hear back and hopefully move out there this summer somewhere. Have you as well?
anyone hear any word on average incoming GPA is there?
i keep hearing differenet things I hear your able to get in with a 3.4ish but other factors like if you attend TT for undergrad and NET scores/references/work expierence/essay. hope this helps
yeah, txtech88 is right, that's the same things i've been hearing from other people in the nursing program, as well as from Mrs. Sullivan straight from the nursing department. Try not to stress, I learned real fast that it doesn't help & all it does is make the wait seem longer. Letters will be sent out anywhere from 6-8 weeks after the application deadline, which is February 15th.
oh yeah, & do you have to have your references at the time of application?
