Updated:   Published

Hello!

I wanted to start a new topic for Texas PMHNP programs Spring 2024 start. I'll be applying to Texas Tech (TTUHSC) and UT Tyler both part-time option. I believe both application deadlines are around August 1st, 2023. Any current TTUHSC or UT Tyler PMHNP students please feel free to offer advice. Prospective students, let's share information and help each other become the best applicants posible.

My stats are as follows:

RN for 3.5 years

1 year psych/substance abuse RN experience (outpatient working with PMHNPs)

8 years psych experience (pre-RN)

BSN GPA 3.9 (from TTUHSC)

2 PMHNP reference letters and 1 psych supervisor letter

How did your interview go?

It went well. ? I just received an offer for admission. I also received an admission offer from Texas Woman's University as well. Now I have to decide which program to go to. They are both good. Texas Tech is one semester shorter for the full-time track.

Congrats!! I just got a denial email. Boo-hoo! I graduate w my BSN from Tech in Dec., so I'm not too beat up about it. I'll just try again.

I'm sorry to hear that. Did the committee offer the denial reasons? You should apply to other programs. I also applied for the program at Texas Woman's University. My coworkers went to UT Tyler, UT Arlington, and Walden University.

It was very generic, not per me specifically. Been an RN for 18 yrs. Likely bc I'm just now getting my BSN??

Hey, I'm happy for anyone that got admitted!! Keep me updated please! Like...is this worth a retry?
