Applying to take NCLEX-RN

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Ohhh someone please help me because I am so terribly lost.

I am in California and will be graduating in May. I don't plan on living here though. I am moving to Illinois.

I have been searching what to do for Illinois boards and I am confused as hell.

One of the forms is a form my director of my school has to sign and fill out once I graduate - it shows proof I did indeed go to a nursing program. What I don't get is - if I have to send in all this paperwork before I can take the test.... but I need to register months before I graduate, then how do I get this form filled out? I can't!

I'm just lost. Anybody have any concerns like mine? Or suggestions?

Thanks!

No you don't have to register months before you graduate I Graduated from one state and moved to another and then registered ,you do it whenever you want. I would wait till after I graduate but word of advice since I did get the run around make sure your nursing school knows to send your transcripts to the IBN and not CBN or you will have a longer wait then after they send your transcript you apply online which is quicker but um apply to the state which you plan to work in and you can sit to take it in any state. You should learn about all of this in your last semester. But Nclex was the last of my worries until I had actually graduated. Best wishes!

Most schools fill out the required paperwork and send it forward in a group batch (or in smaller groups as it is prepared) for their students toward the end of the program. Doesn't your school do that? If not, they should. It is my understanding that they provide the Board with a group roster of "potential" graduates and that the process does not move forward when they report that someone did not graduate with the group. BTW one of my friends had their paperwork completed months before they finished. Since they were repeating a course, I don't know how the school knew that they were going to ultimately pass.
