The UDI has recently received a considerable number of applications from skilled workers who wish to study Norwegian, mainly from the Philippines. We have to investigate these cases more closely to ensure that the applications are in accordance with the rules whereby skilled workers can be granted permits for one year to learn Norwegian.

these lines they have always their website. but before last Friday they had after this lines . who is going to apply they should six month or longer. one of my friend

she applied in may she got result last week. i think we will get result in 4 months.

That's good news! Is your friend a nurse and does she have SAK autorisasjon already? If she applied in May and got her residence permit last week, it means UDI has continued to process. Although there is no processing time indicated in UDI website, norway.ph estimates it to be 4 months:

Processing Time

However, I have applied way back in March and still no reply until now . Does anyone have the same experience? How long have you been waiting for your visas?

Did your friend follow-up? All I got was a generic reply from UDI. It would be helpful if members can post their waiting times and if they got replies. Thanks nayyar for sharing your friend's experience.

Have it photo copied then notarized to public attorney.

Thank you!:)

@kyleinthecrib: what i did was i had all my documents photocopied then notarized. Thats it.

Thank you!:)

Good day everyone! I am new here and also at the start on the process of applying as a nurse in Norway..though I don't know how to start.I have stumbled upon a site here www.healthjobs.no which offers Norwegian language course without cost until you're hired...the agency will be the one to look for potential employers...can anyone of you share the process of application? Thanks a lot!

Hi! I also saw the site you're referring to you. I have checked it already and started communicating with them. I'm am now waiting for the invoice of my pre ordered learning materials. They offer online language course. Are you interested with them also?Have you contacted them already?..

What is status about your visa ?

@ karlito RN can you please send me a copy of your study plan? that's the only document that is lacking in my checklist of requirements...thank you.

I recently emailed UDI about my visa and I was saddened by the reply.

Here's their reply:

We refer to your e-mail dated 13th September 2013.

Your application is still in process here at the UDI.

The UDI has recently received a considerable number of applications from skilled workers who wish to study Norwegian, mainly from the Philippines. We have to investigate these cases more closely to ensure that the applications are in accordance with the rules whereby skilled workers can be granted permits for one year to learn Norwegian. This means that people who apply for this type of permit must expect to wait longer than what has previously been the case for this type of application. The oldest cases are currently more than eleven months old.

Once we have processed the application, we will send the decision to you, via the Norwegian embassy.

Please note that, it is not necessary for you to contact us again until you hear from the embassy.

Best regards
