Hi there,
I am currently a BScN-RN working in CV surgery at a downtown hospital. I am planning on applying to NP school (Primary, not acute) this fall, for September 2009 entry. By that point, I will have just over the minimum length of experience required, so I am planning on applying to as many schools as possible to better my options.
I was just wondering about other people's experiences with applying to NP schools, specifically in Canada.
Any information or advice that anyone may have would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks.

i would suggest that u look into US NP schools.
I believe none of the Canadian NP schools have 100% NP faculty teaching courses.

Actually, I don't know of any NP schools in Ontario that don't have an all NP faculty. Some other provinces may be having difficulty finding enough NP's to teach, due to the relatively small numbers of NP's in their provinces. There are now over 1000 NP's in Ontario, so maybe we have a critical mass?
I definitely do not want to go to the US for my education. I had a friend who did that, and had a lot of trouble finding a job when she came back because of the discrepency of quality of education at different schools. It took her over two years to find a job, despite there being plenty of available positions.
Is there any other Canadian education NPs on here that I could speak/email with??
Thanks!
