I applied to Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing..took the NET and received great scores:yeah: and now, waiting to set-up interview with school.

Anywone else applying and waiting to hear back? Anyone already go through their interview? I'm interested in waiting with other applicants!

This is my top choice and I'm ready to be accepted!! :D:D

I graduated from MHSON a few years ago and LOVED the program. I currently work at MH across the street and, let me tell you, I can see a difference in the students that go to MHSON and Caldwell. The students from MHSON are just more prepared to be real floor nurses. They're not afraid to get their hands wet. But this is due to the fact that diploma schools have more clinical time with patients.

However, I don't want to discourage any of you about going to Caldwell. Compared to other students that we see, the BSN students of Caldwell are ahead of the typical BSN students (such as those from Essex and Bloomfield). I think it's bc the nursing instructors from MHSON cross-train the students at Caldwell. I think it's a shame that diploma schools are getting phased out for BSN programs. The more time in the hospital makes you a better a nurse, not the more electives you've taken..

Just my two cents. Good luck!

Oh! I had a full scholarship my second year of nursing school, and my first year - I had a partial scholarship. There are many scholarships available, you just have to apply for them

Thanks for sharing your personal experience. I would love to go to MSON but its just a matter of being accepted..... [my nerves are out of control]. Did you ever get your BSN or higher degree?

Hi Nancy :)

You will be accepted, don't worry. It's actually not a hard admission process. I'm currently getting my BSN, I'm taking one class every 8 weeks, I started in August- and will be done by next August. 2 years total. But I have friends who did it in 1 year. I'm going to school online now @ Chamberlain College of Nursing. I love it.

Thank you for your kind words! I am so nervous about the TEAS! You know the whole pre-admission process can drive one nuts!! Where do you the clinicals or how often for Chamberlain? Far of a stretch for me but I thought about that school for my BSN too....lol! Good luck to you and always reach for the stars! :D

Try not to stress, but I understand!

No clinicals with Chamberlain (yay!) It doesn't make sense making a working RN do clinicals - it's like working for free! It's a big reason why I chose them. :D There are great threads on here about Chamberlain.. just search them when you're ready Good luck!!

Awwwww.... thanks! That's fantastic! ;=D

Just more encouragement Nancy -- I just got an offer for a new grad ICU program in Texas! I'll be fresh grad working in the ICU! One of the interviewers (I interviewed with SIX!) stated how knowledgable I was and I really had to give credit to Mountainside!

:yeah:That's FANTASTIC! Good luck  and you go girl!!:yeah:

What are you gonna do? Oh I hope I get in.....
