applying to lone star colleges for fall 09

I'm new to this site. I've been coming here browsing for a while, but I hadn't seen anyone posting yet if they were applying at any of the lone star colleges for fall 2009. I just took my HESI and unfortunately only got an 87.23 so that puts my scores at 11.1892 and I don't think I'll get in now. :cry: I'll apply at Montgomery as my first choice, then north harris, tomball, and cy-fair. If I don't get in I guess I'll have to try to either retake the Hesi next semester or retake my english 1301 that I got a B in... this is driving me crazy! I started working on the pre-req's over 5 years ago and stopped to have 3 kids now I'm back in the game and I was so disappointed today after my HESI. The competetiveness is just crazy that a B in one class and a B on one test can pretty much take me out of the running. I'm going to keep my hopes up, but I'd sure like to hear if anyone else is applying and what yall's scores are :wink2:

I got in at north harris!!! I was in vegas and my mom called me last friday!!! Good friday... And it was a goooooood friday for sure!!!!! So excited... Haven't had time to read all the posts, but will tonight after class!!!! So happy for everyone who got in!!!

Hi you guys. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up. I'm in Nursing I at Kingwood in the evening program. It's a great program and the instructors are really nice. If you can, get Pharm out of the way this summer. I am taking Pharm with Lecture, Skills and Clinical and it can be overwhelming at times but doable :-) If you are unsure of the shots that you have had, get titers drawn, I did and was able to prove immunity based on the titers drawn. Most of the required shots were childhood immunizations so you should probably only need the the TDap and the rest of the Hepatits B series. I see that some of you have kids and I have four kids with my youngest just turning 1 last month, work fulltime, and am doing nursing school fulltime so it goes to show you, if you want it bad enough, you will make it happen. When there's a will there's a way. The Spring 2009 group was not too long ago in your shoes and when we got our letters Mody, Stacy and Soso all gave us great advice so I'm happy to pass it along. I don't know any details of the North Harris program but if it's structured like Kingwoods, I'm willing to help any way I can:yeah:

Of course Lizzienick311 you can join and congrats ; I know how you felt when your mother was reading the acceptance letter to you..I will make the new thread tonight or tomorrow for the new north harris student/or anyone who wants to joing the group.

Ok, this is starting to get irritating!! I've been waiting all week for this letter to come but...NOTHING!! I went online and saw that the letters are supposed to be mailed out the week of April 12th. Cyfair really knows how to take their time:banghead: I thought I would find out by the weekend but it seems like I will have to wait till next week. NO GOOD!! I guess I will just pray for patience and find something to do this weekend.:sniff:

I've also applied to Cy-fair as my first choice and have yet to receive a letter. It wasn't in the mail today either. Still waiting...I'll be calling on Monday if I don't get a letter. My score was 11.41. I feel like a kid waiting to open presents on Christmas...

HELP!! I wanted to start a new thread for North Harris 09/10 students (or anyone who wants to join the group), but I am not sure how to start it. Do I need to upgrade my membership in order to start a new thread..??
