Applying for Fall 2013 to Florida Schools. These requirements are scary!

Published

I am 28 years old and planning on applying to UF,USF, UCF and Florida Southern for Fall 2013. I have to say that reading all of the requirements and seeing how many people are getting turned down with great GPAs is a little scary. Because of my age, if I don't get accepted to a BSN program I am feel like I would be waisting time if I applied and didn't get it. Do any of you students have a back up career plan if you are not accepted to a nursing school? I am hopeful but the amount of people turned down is insane.

You could try a private school such as Kaiser or Galen.

You really never know until you apply. My suggestion is to apply, apply, apply!! It certainly is competitive but if you want it enough it will come when the time is right

Because of your age? Why is that a problem? I just applied for my first school for a January 2013 start and I will be 31 three months from now. I have a prior BA so if I had the money I would have gone for an ABSN but instead I'm starting with the ASN and will pursue RN-MSN one day.

Anyway, you are never too old to learn, they say...

What's a back up plan? lol, uh nope no back up plan! its do or die :banghead: lol

Even if I go for ADN i gonna go straight ahead for RN to BSN...this is the first career I ever wanted, everything else was just a job.
