who is applying to the christ college of nursing for fall 2010

:imbar Anyone applying to the christ college of nursing and health sciences admission for the fall of 2010? I know the deadline is january 15, 2010. I had got accepted last march but I could not attend so I am applying again, I had a 3.53 GPA cumulative but last spring I took some classes and my quaterly GPA was a 2.90 so I decided to take biology, spanish and math and earned a 4.0 this quarter so I am hoping that will bring my cumulative GPA back to its competitive state. I have 2 reference letters from a supervisor at Children's Hospital and a professor at the University of Cincinnati and a co worker but I am not confident on my essay. I am wondering if my grades and other credentials will make up for my writing deficiency and if the fact that I got accepted last year will influence their admissions decision in a positive way. To those who attend christ or are applying how competitive were your grades?

Hello,

I just graduated from Christ and for the most part have all great things to say, except no jobs at christ. Hopefully u guys will find a different economy when u graduate. If you have any questions PM me I would be happy to answer your questions. I love the small college and you do get individual attention. Remember that first month is intimidating. I have a bachelor's degree and this ADN was much harder. Work hard the rewards will pay off.:D

Christ isn't on a hiring freeze with the economy-that is an excuse-they got hit with a 55 MILLION lawsuit judgement due to a federal law violation brought by a doctor who retired then sued. They were stacking the OR time in favor of physician groups who referred more patients to Christ. Those docs that allowed their patients to choose were slighted OR time-they didn;t paly the game-and it cost Christ hospital big time.

An FYI-it helps to follow the news in the area to see who is being sued for what-I would love an employer who filters themselves as much as they try to filter employees, and really don't tolerate the double standards well at all!!

Hey Healthlink

I have a question for you. Is pharmacology learned in the first semester? I called the book store and got the names of the books we'll be using first semester and Clinical Drug Therapy by Abrams was one of the required books. I know that we have a dosage calculation class the second semester, so will we be learning the individual drugs and their classes in the first semester (maybe in Foundations class)?

Oh, and I have a BS as well but I have no doubt that this ADN will be WAY harder!

Another question, is there an exit exam that must be passed in order to graduate?
