Hello nurses, I wonder if any of you have applied to Indiana State University for the LPN to BSN online program? I sent in my application in March, and currently awaiting a response, which they say will be at the end of May. The waiting is stressful! Have any of you applied to this program? Does anybody know how competitive this program is? Thanks in advance!

It use to be not very competitive but now it's hard to get in. I did the program from 2013 to 2016 and have worked in Florida and NC since graduating. Great program and support from the ISU faculty and staff during the program but beware that you have to arrange your own clinical which is a very tedious task especially if you don't work in the hospital setting already.
Well, I just found out I got in! My biggest concern is arranging the clinicals. Any pointers?
Call every location in 100 miles. Tell them what you need and both the organization and you can benefit from each other. ie you working for them once you graduate. They might already have a few places with current clinical contracts in Oregon. Don't delay. Start looking from now. These things takes time. Also it's summer time so the people who can make decisions may be on vacation or going on vacation.

Look through the contract sites first and then contact the site person to ask if you can do clinical there. You need to secure your own placement even if there is a contract already in place. As some agencies only allow their employees to do clinical. So call these agencies and ask.

Congratulations stumptowngirl! Was wondering if you didn’t mind telling me what your grades were for the prerequisites courses prior to your acceptance. And also what documentation you submitted for proof of address as I currently live in a state they are not associated with. If I get in I would have to change my address to one of their approved states.
Melisaur, my grades in math in science were a mix of A's and B's. Most everything else A's. I got an 81% on the Kaplan placement test. A driver's license was required for the application, so that may be what is used to prove one's residence. And I guess one's LPN license would have to be in the given state as well. You should inquire at ISU.
Deannahamid, thank you for your response! Good suggestions and I will begin to work on it.
