Application process taking forever!

So, I applied for a job at the local jail about 2 months ago. 2 days later they called me for an interview to be held a week later. Interview and test lasted about 45 min. I was told I would be called the following week. 3 weeks later they called and asked me to come in for a polygraph. I did and passed it!! Boy was that nerve racking! Then they call 2 days later and ask me to come back on Monday to" discuss the position further" Has everyone else gone through such a long process? :eek:

    I know nurses and doctors that took 8-12 months before they could start working. I'm only contract, and it took me 2 months. I was told that was pretty fast.

    Man, I don't feel so bad now.

    I accepted a job offer on 7/1, and I've been getting antsy because they haven't even called me yet for the physical or drug test, not to mention the background check.

    Just hang in there. There were other candidates who went through the whole process, but they ended up accepting other jobs because the process took long. The background takes the longest. They will call every employer you wrote on your resume, and that takes a lot of time. Just so you know.

    Can i just ask what they asked you on the polygraph ? Is this standard for prison employment? Im curious. :p

    I found out yesterday my app was lost so I hand delivered it to HR, then submitted to a drug test on the drive home. Hopefully, I can start in August.

    I heard about some RN openings at the prison from my classmate (we graduated together this past June). I called them up last week and they asked me to come in the next day for an interview, where I was hired on the spot. I start work this Monday, so I guess SC really needs correctional RNs, LOL!
