2017 application cycle

Hello all,

i just thought i would would start a thread for those awaiting acceptance from programs for fall 2017. I have already been accepted to Simmons (MSN) . I also applied to ECU (DNP), UNC (MSN) , and Duke (MSN). I applied for Family Nurse Practitioner at each.

Where did you apply? what is your top choice?

I still have not heard anything from Chapel Hill for the FNP program. I talked to the SON on Friday the 28th and they said this week letters should be sent out with email notification which we should get before a written letter arrives..again some folks have already gotten an answer..but I was told this was the "first wave" and the second wave is coming...the process is different than it has been in years past.

Ridiculous. If any other business was run this way, they would fizzle out quickly.

I don't understand it. I feel bad for anyone who turned down other schools or are waiting to move for this school. They were all turned in early January. This is a big bummer.

I do think May is late for notification....especially if folks want to give notice to employers and investigate moving to the area....hopefully soon we will hear something...

Email this morning stating a decision has been made. Denied. I guess they don't want someone with years of experience, excellent references and a 3.9. Their loss.

I'm so sorry!! Hope you both have other options. What program did you applied for? I'm still waiting to hear from UNC for the RN to MSN program, specifically FNP.
