Hello all,

i just thought i would would start a thread for those awaiting acceptance from programs for fall 2017. I have already been accepted to Simmons (MSN) . I also applied to ECU (DNP), UNC (MSN) , and Duke (MSN). I applied for Family Nurse Practitioner at each.

Where did you apply? what is your top choice?

So glad for all of you! Good luck! This is quite an undertaking! I start August 21 and there will be no respite till the end 2020. However I have thought about this long and hard as have all of you-so here goes !!!

Congratulations (:

Will any of you who were accepted be taking the health assessment course? Apparently it starts in less than 3 days, and as of right now, I am scheduled to work 2 out of the 3 on-site days. Wondering if you've heard whether it is beneficial also..

I'm taking the History taking & Physical Assessment class. I thought it'd be beneficial for me because I work in a nontraditional role where I do not do h to t assessments. My book just came today & I'll be present for the skillscheck off.

I really wanted to do it but didn't have the funds for it :(. Wish it had been a tad bit more affordable!

I am doing mine with loans. The debt seems scary but I am hoping to get it paid off with a loan repayment program. Check out National Health Corps Nursing repayment program.

BoricuaNurseNC, I was SO happy to find out that you got out of the waitlist and gained admission. I, too, am applying to the RN-MSN program for FNP at UNC-CH. Of course I'm applying for Fall 2018 matriculation. I'm doing my application now and would really love to know more about your candidacy, especially your personal statement (you must have had a great one because they keep telling me that's the most important part of the app!). Would you share this info with me? Anyway, proud of you and very inspired to see another fellow ADN nurse get into this competitive program. :)

Hi RN18920,

So excited for you getting into this highly competitive program. Do you have any wisdom you'd be willing to share regarding the personal statement? They keep emphasizing the importance of writing a great personal statement. Again, congratulations on gaining acceptance, so very happy for you!
