application to ca brn

Published

hi everyone.

i graduated last year as a student nurse. after i graduate i went back to california because i know that california doesn't require for applicants to be license nurses in their respective countries but i applied last january and recieved a letter from cali board of nursing that asks me to write or tell PRC to write them back (the ca brn) as to why i was exempted from taking the boards in the philippines. im really worried about this because im not even affiliated with the prc and afraid the the prc will not write a letter back to them.

here is the exact phrase

"applicants from the Philippines will need to contact the Professional Regulations Commission and request for documaentation to be sent directly to the Board as to why you were exempt from being ablt to sit for the licensing examination for nurses in the Philippines. "

is there anyone with the same situation as me? thanks.

There is nothing for anyone to advise you on, she needs to contact the BRN and find out what is going on.

What did she exactly send them money for to begin with? And how was it paid for?

Specializes in icu-general type.

it was the reapplication fee of 75usd, send thru money order.

anyhow, we'll try to contact ca bon. hope there will be an answer for this...

thank you always...

Did she actually submit another application to them, or just the fee? Not sure if she did or not, but the application needs to be submitted as well again and this may be the reason that she is getting the refund and nothing further is being done.

hi mochafrap! i would just like to know if you are a u.s. citizen or a permanent resident? i am a permanent resident who graduated from a foreign nursing school on march 2008. i went back to california without taking the local boards with the knowledge that a local license is not a requirement to sit for the nclex-rn exam in california. i have forwarded my application to BRN and up to now i'm still waiting for their response. i'm just worried that my application will be denied because i do not hold a local license. i have friends who are in the same situation as i am and any information regarding this would be very much appreciated.

by the way, congratulations!!!

Ca are very strict regarding local license so do not be surprised when they ask for it. You may have to consider going back to take the boards. They have had this rule since Jan 08
